Re: Help to ID a Bike Model

Ouch…some fiery darts coming from the Super Secret Hodaka Research and Meditation Center and I believe they are aimed at me! However, in this case Richard’s last reply is spot on. No harm taken from Mike reply though. I hope he meant well?? ;) In this case Mike is “preaching to the choir” as the say...

Re: Help to ID a Bike Model

As the owner of the Hodaka in question in this discussion, I want to thank all you that have replied and given your expert opinion. I use the word expert because you guys have experience only found here on this forum. You were the closest eyewitnesses of the Hodaka era. Compared to the bible, you wo...

Thank you shout out

Hey Hodaka user group. Just wanted to say thank you to this group of people who are willing to assist Hodaka owners. And of course there is a story to follow. I was stumped by a clutch dragging issue (not disengaging). After two rebuilds and all new parts, the problem persisted. So, doing a little r...

Re: Can you fix a tank leak ?

Caswell makes good epoxy based liner products. Preparing the inside of the tank is critical when using a liner. There are many methods and products for prep. I had a tank rechromed that had a small pin hole in the tunnel. Caswell sealed the leak. If the tank is rusty inside, it could develop additio...

Re: Ace 100 hot wire

Well Ed, here's the deal...the bike had spark and even ran before I rebuilt the stator. The same primary coil was used and I added a lighting coil which was missing. New points and condenser, points are opening, same high tension coil which is grounded to the frame as needed. Guess I will pull the m...

Need some assistance bypassing the main switch on an Ace 100. The wiring harness has not been connected yet or the main switch but I would like to check for spark before proceeding. Re: Restoring Nuts and Bolts

Here are a couple photos. The air cleaner is NOS for comparison. The plating company will clean the parts before plating so you don't need to prep the parts. Check pricing as the cost varies from one company to the next. If you are in the northwest, here is the company I used recently. TFC plating i...

Re: Restoring Nuts and Bolts

Find a zinc plating company in your area. Send your dirty rusty greasy part off and get back clean new looking parts. Ask for clear zinc plating which matches Original. Cost is about $75-100 for one bike depending on the weight. This includes brackets, axles, springs, nuts, bolts, washers, cover pla...

Ah but pears do grow where it snows. I live in the Rogue Valley (So. Oregon), once the pear capital and home of Harry and David's, and yes it does snow here at least once or twice every winter. Your welcome Clarence!

Powder coat. Cardinal brand paint line. Not sure which red. There were several reds. I used an NOS battery box to match the color. Thanks for your assistance Bruce. I ordered an air cleaner assembly from Paul. Expensive but I'm going for "broke".

Ace 100 air cleaner

Hi gang, I have been restoring this 1968 Ace, thinking all along the nearly new air cleaner I obtained in a parts lot would fit. Well I am still learning about the older frame and discovered today during assembly there is a small loop Channel on this frame that get in the way of the later air cleane...
