Re: New projects from old parts. (picture heavy)

The foil trick worked great, thanks Victor. On another subject.................... I have a highly modified Super Combat and Super Rat that I raced in AHRMA and MOVMX for years. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d89/AJ67SS/100_9111_zpsy0eupwye.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d89/AJ67SS/98%20Ra...

Re: New projects from old parts. (picture heavy)

Got some time to work on the Ace. My hands are sore and i used up some wire and gas on the seat pan but the seat came out great came out. Special thanks to Paul for searching thru the rafters and finding a seat cover and foam for me. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d89/AJ67SS/Mobile%20Uploads/2016...

Re: New projects from old parts. (picture heavy)

Thanks Max and ddvorak. I really appreciate the help. I made the seat pan out of ABS and have a couple really rusted pans and mounts for examples. When I made up the mounts, I couldnt decided if they needed to be long enough to keep the seat off the loop, or shorter so that the loop also supported t...

Re: New projects from old parts. (picture heavy)

Ok, so now the questions start: The bottom pipo in the picture is installed, works great, and I think its the right pipe for a A32XXX frame. The top pipe is another pipe I have on the shelves and am now wondering if it even is a Hodaka pipe?????? It could be a Bridgestone 90 pipe as I have one of th...

Re: New projects from old parts. (picture heavy)

Richard, I had trouble getting the pictures to display yesterday, (Sunday it worked fine). Seemed to be more a problem with PhotoBucket, who I use for photo hosting, as I couldnt get into their site yesterday. It seems to be working now. I have been trying to use up my stash of used/so-so quality pa...

New projects from old parts. (picture heavy)

Several weeks ago a buddy asked if I had a 98 Rat frame to sell. He wanted to build a true 98 Rat and I am not much for matching of numbers for race bikes. I knew I had one, just didnt know where. Looked around for a while, and kept going thru box after box, (realized I needed to downsize/organize)....

Re: 34mm conversion.

I've done the swap to 6 or 7 race bikes. Only issue I ever ran into was to modify the steering stops so you dont dent the tank (metal or plastic). I usually built the stops up with the welder then cleaned up the welds with the grinder. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d89/AJ67SS/Bikes/100_9108.jpg ...

Re: Webco Hodaka Cylinder Questions

It is definitely an early SR cylinder and a webco head. Not sure where the reed intake comes from. Pretty nice porting job on it, looks very nice and it is a standard bore. I saw pictures of the bike it came off of, when it ran many years ago; very similar to the one in the ad from Paul. Price isnt ...

Re: Webco Hodaka Cylinder Questions

I agree DR. I have only seen the pictures and talked with him on the phone about it. I figured it was a standard Hodaka cylinder that had been ported because it has all the Hodaka markings and no Webco stampings at all. I had concerns, so I shot him a very low price, he wasnt pleased, but didnt say ...

Re: Webco Hodaka Cylinder Questions

Wow! Paul. I love the look of that TT/tracker on the ad. Gonna put it up in the shop, and will try to build one like it. Thanks AZ for the info. The cylinder measures out at just a tick under 50mm, so standard bore. I am going to make a deal with the guy to buy it. Here is what I am negotiating for:...

Re: Baby Ceriani Parts

Thought of these two others: (I love the tiddlers)
Suzuki TS50 forks are 26mm, (there were a ton of these at Mid Ohio this year as riders)
Honda XR75 forks are 27mm, so the boots should be close enough to work on the Ceriani's.

Other than that maybe try Guzzino web site for the small Ceriani parts.

Here's a guess: didnt the Dirt Squirt 80's use 28mm forks? You can still get boots for those forks.

Re: Webco Hodaka Cylinder Questions

Paul and AZ, I figured you were busy. No worries. The cylinder is marked 98cc's (I can read it on a different picture than the one below) and measures out at 50mm bore. Looks like a typical ACE 100 cylinder with two studs mounting the reed setup. So I figure it is an ACE cylinder and not a Super Rat...

Re: Huh?

Built by a retired gentleman, who I believe was a machinist. He built several custom Hodaka's over the years for his son to race. I have owned and raced a few of the bikes, my favorite was an all black model 98 Super Rat. Never had a mechanical failure with one of his bikes. I believe it is a Road T...

Webco Hodaka Cylinder Questions

I am looking at a Webco cylinder, head and reed set up here locally, supposed to have been part of a kit for flat tracking the early Hodaka 90cc Ace. I was told the Webco flat track kit was a cylinder, head, pipe, Gem reed set up, and billet trans dip stick. Does anyone know if stock Hodaka pistons ...

Re: Huh?

I know where this one is for sale in the midwest by a very competent builder. I was offered the bike, but at this point in time, I just cant add to the stable. Poor timing for me. Just fired it up and have not done the complete break-in yet. Let me know if your interested and I will give you the own...

Jack,
All I came up with was this one: CEV, two position switch, with a button on top,not on the side. I will keep looking through the boxes I have, I swear I have one like you are looking for someplace.b

Re: Looking 4 hard-to-find parts for the Harry Taylor Road R

Jack, If you are looking for the chrome switch on the handle bar, it is a CEV switch. CEV 8052 is the part number I think. There are several versions: two position or three position, and with or with out a momentary switch on the front of the housing for kill or horn. Alot of the early to mid 70's s...

Re: Diamond Dons Vintage MX

2007 was a bit dryer than 2008, but not by much. I think some part of the track being muddy is a foregone conclusion every year at DD's.

But it is well worth the time and effort to attend!

Re: Rustol

I didnt use Rustol on this one. I bought some anhydrous citric acid and mixed it up in water. It was $15 for 3 pounds and I used a cup with 2 gallons of water. Pretty good results, but no rust inhibitor after the fact. [URL=http://s33.photobucket.com/user/AJ67SS/media/Rust/20140331_164947_zps7452a1b...
