Tool box lid spring

Could someone post me a picture of how the ends are suppose to be bent on the spring that holds the tool box lid on? I took mine apart to have it rechromed and didn't think to take a picture of it. Figured I would remember, but forgot how long it takes to get chrome back. I think they were bent in k...

Re: 94 Headlamp question

Well, looks as if I would have found that paragraph I wouldn't have had to ask the question. Thanks for posting it. Could you do me a favor and look at the brown wire connector in your headlamp and tell me if it has space for three or four wires? Just curious. D

Re: 94 Headlamp question

Good question. Bike was pretty original so I assumed (yeah, I should know better) that it had the original switch in it. Diagram in the service manual shows the signals so it must be for the 94A but I have an original owners manual that has a diagram for the 94 in it. Wiring diagram for the 94A show...

Wombat air cleaner decals

Is there a source for these? Looked at
Terry's site and couldn't find them by
model or under decals. D

Re: Wombat internal fork tubes

Yep, all the parts are there. One thing I did notice when I pulled them out of the trees is that the tube would drop about a half inch before it would contact the upper spacer. Like the spring was too short. I thought this might be because of the broken tube and was going to recheck when I put them ...

Re: Wombat internal fork tubes

If I can figure out loading photo I will do so. This is the first set of Hodaka forks I have taken apart, but not the first set of forks I have done. I have never come across this before. They both broke at the point the roll pin goes through the tube. Hopefully the files attach. D BTW, anyone got m...

Re: Spoke sets

Thanks for the responses. I do tend to buy American when I can. Don't want to get political on the board, I have been in contact with Scott and a friend that said he might have a complete wheel. D

Wombat internal fork tubes

Disassembled the fork tubes on the Wombat today and found both of what I call the dampning tubes broken. Is this a common problem with these forks, something I need to look for, or am I just lucky, again...... Thanks, D

Spoke sets

Has anyone used the spoke sets that are advertised on ebay and come from Singapore? Wonder if the hub ends have the correct bends in them. Deeper I get into this Wombat the more I find wrong Never ends does it :x D

Wombat clutch disc

How much "wiggle" should the pin in the clutch disc (part #944020) have? Redoing the motor and it sure looks like a lot of slop in it to me. The bushing for the clutch drive gears was well worn also and may have caused this. It actually has a bit of in and out play in it also. Any sources ...

Re: Air cleaner seal

Olddogs, good news and bad news on the AC seal. Got some edging from Mcmaster-Carr and it worked like a champ. Bad news, hit the wrong amount in the quantity box and now probably have enough edging to seal all the airboxes in Hodaka nation. LOL! Thanks for the tip. D

On the Wombat (94) air cleaner is the seal between the cover and the backing plate foam, an o'ring or quad ring? Thanks for any info, D

Re: Paper air filter size

Ah. I thought that it might be paper because of the ones I saw on e-bay. There was a cage in the airbox that was wrapped with some sort of cloth. If it was foam, I can just make one out of some foam material as I have on DT1's in the past. Thanks for the reply. Now to find the rubber from the carb t...

Paper air filter size

Working on my first Hodaka, a 125 Wombat (early). Would like to find the dimensions of the original paper air filter to see if there is something in a wix that will fit. Looks like it was about the size of the early Corvette two four air filter. I did a search and couldn't find the info, but may not...

Re: Please help with kickstart clip

If you have a drill press and a vice for it you could use a socket to press the clip and retainer on at the same time. If you are still having problem next week I will post a picture when I put mine back together. I need to make a bushing and weld up the tabs yet.
