Re: 22mm Clamp on mukini carb

Thanks for clearing me up on this.

I've seen the Ace 90 race parts catalog on line.

I didn't make the connection.

I don't need one of these, but I'm curious.

What bike does this carb go on?

22mm?

Re: 03 Wombat rebuild questions

This is a touchy subject. I've taken the Mikuni oil pump apart & examined it. It's a precisely built mechanism & is remarkably simple. I don't know what you mean about drilling a hole in the transfer port. My thinking is you can put premix in the tank today if you choose. Perhaps others on t...

That "U" shape tool looks like just the thing.

I've done it the hard way too many times.

I'll have one on hand next time.

Re: DIY zinc plating. Any success?

I've spent a lot of time learning how to plate so it looks right. But my focus was on bright nickel plating. And some alkaline copper plating. If you're willing to spend another 25 or 30 bucks I'd suggest the Caswell Plating Manual. Maybe you can find an older Free copy on line. This will tell you i...

I believe you will find a wiring diagram for your bike at this site if you are willing to dig for it.

This site has parts available.

They MIGHT have a piston kit for your engine.

Did someone ask about FUGI?

I think some of you guys might find this web page interesting. http://www.indiandirtbikeparts.com/files/Indian_F500K_Engine.pdf Note the interest in the 12mm piston pin hand written notes. For folks on a quest for pistons this sort of sheds interesting light on the "small 12mm pin". The Ho...

Re: Ace 100 piston rings

I've got at least $2500 in parts & porting work on my Gofer.

The parts are all in Asia.

Plenty of them.

Shipping, unlike Amazon, is far from free.

Delivery from Bangkok is 4-6 weeks.

Re: Ace 100 piston rings

Very good thought.

I own a Gofer and I regret to say the rings are not as "tall" as the Old Ace rings.

I've got pictures of the Gofer if anyone wants to see a very nicely rebuilt one.

Re: 1970 Super Rat- Carb Woes

The carb you have, whatever size and origin, looks okay. If you are confident it ran before I'll bet it'll run now. Clean everything, pay special attention to cleaning the pilot jet and all the little holes in the carb body. Then put it together. I suspect the boys are right. That's a modified Ace e...

Re: 1970 Super Rat- Carb Woes

I'd say that's not a stock VM 24. I believe that's why your rebuild package isn't working out for you. Since the bowl gasket isn't torn I'd be inclined to give it a total clean & re assemble. A total clean would include the pilot jet and all the little holes & passages in the carb body. This...

Re: 1970 Super Rat- Carb Woes

My two cents: this does not look like the stock VM 24. The bowl looks wrong to me.

If you'd like the workshop manual for the iron cylinder Super Rat that shows the stock carb exploded view please email me.

Re: Old Member, re connecting

I'd say spokes & nipples zinc plated. I stripped these in dilute hydro chloric acid, polished and bright nickel plated them. I'm confident some of MY Ace 100 fasteners were chrome plated. Most of those I replaced with stainless & buffed to look like chrome. My Ace Kickstarter & shift lev...

If not, I'd suggest trying a different gage.

Does anyone know if there's a Hodaka Workshop Manual for this model?

If there is, the owner should get one. Soon.

A parts diagram and parts list is good, but a workshop manual would be key.

Re: New buyer advice? Good deal?

You've asked about registration in California. I'm from Ohio. But I can tell you if it doesn't have a title that can be transferred it's going to be difficult to get a title. No title, no register. The engine: 2 k on the odometer, oil injection and 65 psi compression do not add up. The parts you wan...
