Re: Throttle Bar
Victor, I think the wear could make the slide hang up for a moment or two, particularly if it were paired with a new throttle adjuster PN VM2009. It might even cause some slight, irregular running in that range of throttle, unless the rubber cap was fitted, as it would let in unmetered air as well. ...

Vic, If I read your post correctly, the bearing is still stuck on the crank. I had the same problem a few years back and picked up a set of bearing pullers from HF. https://www.harborfreight.com/bearing-separator-and-puller-set-62593.html Might be able to find a set a bit cheaper else where. Good lu...

Re: painting spokes
Thanks for the pro tip, Givergas. I'll gladly use that in the near future. All my bikes are well cared for riders and I like them to look as nice as I can. I do it all on a pretty tight budget and making functional parts last longer is a great cost saver, so I can save for larger and more expensive ...

Congrats. Surprisingly complete too. I really like the look of those Cerianis, IMHO they're the only add-on you can do to a stock Hodaka to make it look cooler. I've been looking for a a set for a few years but the time/ money equation never seems to equal out.

Wow! That's a pretty cool find, looks like the owner might need to utilize one of the many mowers. Cool Vespa too. Vespa's have done Baja and the Paris- Dakar before... so maybe a Hodaka-Vespa hybrid or something of the sort. The swingarm would take some thinking though.....

Re: Race Hodaka Wombat
Dal, I raced my M94 Wombat in VMX a few years ago. It's completely stock, all I did was remove the lights, battery, kickstand, unplug the ignition switch (so I didn't need to worry about a key), added some number plates and covered a few bit's with fuel hose. Here's a link to the thread that tells t...

Re: Not getting fuel in carb bowl...
Victor, if you're getting fuel down the line, from the tank, then it sounds like your carb may not be venting or the fuel float valve isn't letting the fuel in. I'd suggest taking the carb off and giving it a good once over. Try blowing compressed air through all the passages to check for blockage. ...

John,
looks like we're both blind. I know that they used to be posted on Strictly Hodaka's site. I'm not sure if there are reason's behind it but it would be nice to have them available again.

Bill, congrats. I have a '72 Wombat as well, great bikes and most parts are readily available from Terry at Hodaka-parts.com. Certain piston sizes have proven difficult to find but if you send a message out to the community there's usually one or two that pop up. Looks like the majority of the parts...

Re: Wombat clutch disc
I think that's normal. In my Wombat and in my Aces, that little disk has quite a bit of play and haven't had a problem with any of them. If the clip on the back still there, that keeps the pin from being removed from the disk, and thus keeps all the ball bearings under it.... then I think you're goo...

Hello Sento, welcome to the board. What year Wombat are you working on? If you had spark when testing then your coil should be good or at least good enough to run. The coils are pretty simple and robust units, I'd put it back in. If you want to check it there's probably videos on youtube and specs i...

Bert, glad to hear you've found your problem and that your undertaking the task. The clock spings seems to be the only point of "calibration" on these speedos. On of my speedo's clock springs was broken just before the spike too. I had to flatten the spike's hole to get it to bite, my spik...

Re: 03 patina build
If the clutch cover is still able to seal/ retain oil and you can achieve good clutch adjustment then I'd reuse it. I'd just knock down all the sharp points and remove any bits that may dislodge or come off. You can always source another at a later date. I'm using a cover that's chewed a bit too and...

Thank you, yes I considered talking him down a bit, but it’s so rare I see Hodaka stuff in my area I felt like I should strike while The iron was hot, but you make good points. And thank you for the tips. Haunted Head, I'm north of you in Redding. Also, you're right, Hodakas don't show up too often...

Ddvorak, Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you pointed out that you used a bolt to assist the tensioner's clamp, I would never have caught that. My kids tear up the local hills with their '68 Ace and at the end of the day the chain really wants to start wearing into the frame above the swing-arm. Ha...

Larry, brilliant idea in using the spark plug to mount the pressure gauge too.

Re: Wombat pipe on 100B+
JPark,
The 125 exhaust nut won't fit a 100 cylinder. However if your handy with a hacksaw and a welder or oxy/ace unit I think you could make it work. I can tell you that the 100 and 125 flamethrower pipes are the same other than the tubing leading up to the cylinder.

Dumb luck solves my clutch arm seal leak
After commuting with my ‘72 Wombat over the last few weeks I noticed a bit of trans fluid on my garage floor. I needed to adjust the arm’s free play anyway so I pulled the clutch cover to investigate. Turns out it was the clutch arm’s seal. That o-ring has been in there less than a year and was stil...
