Re: 50th Anniversary badges Ruined!
I like Captn's suggestion of the epoxy backing on the badges. Anything painted or deposited on the backside of clear plastic can be fragile. Another idea is to go to a craft store (such as Hobby Lobby) and get some thin (.010 or .020") acetate plastic sheet to glue on as a backing. I moved my c...

Re: Countershaft Sprocket Nut
My intuitive guess on the countershaft sprocket nut tightness would be a "good grunt" on a 10" ratchet handle. That might work out to be 10-12 ft-lbs or 120-150 in-lbs. I've not tested this feel to failure, so be careful. On the bendable lockplates, start the bend using a 1/2" wo...

Back on the Club website
Finally!! I got the email/login problem taken care of and even downloaded the last four issues of the Resonator.
And, oops, found that I had not paid the current year's dues yet. That was done ASAP!
Great being back.

Re: The 2 the Max Project
Sorry Max, I skipped over your question about my attending HD this year. No, not this year. I'm planning next year-- driving a truck out, bringing the Wbat, and sightseeing the Pacific Northwest. And while I'm there visiting Pocatello Idaho, where I was born. We moved tp B'ham in '53 and I've never ...

Re: 6 Volt Instrument Lamps
What voltages are you getting at the output of the regulator? That is the simple and definitive test that should be tried before throwing parts at the system. Voltage shouldn't exceed 9v.

Hardened washers are good. Especially the larger diameter washers. The narrow contact point of the bolt can create create a stress point and the wide washer can spread the force out.

One of the first special tools I made for my Hodaka was a pressure test rig. I do a pressure test yearly during the "Spring tuneup".

Matt, much attention to detail is needed for good scale modeling.
I'm currently working on a series of scale spacecraft. Apollo-Soyuz, the Apollo 13 explosion and the Mir space station.

Roger, and 12v will open the door to LED lighting, which can produce higher quality lighting and reduced current draw. But even then, 12v halogen is an inexpensive and improved lighting option over the stock lighting.

I see it is listed for "Hodaka 125/Road Toad 100" so I figure it will fit my Wombat 94.

Me too, Matt. I recall a thread about a Powerdynamo on a BMW over at ADVRider. Let me find some links over there.
As I recall, the impression of Powerdynamo was quite positive.

"Where do men like that come from?" And where have they all gone? Long time aerospace enthusiast, too. The museum at Dayton is on my bucket list. I've been to Pensacola, but it's been decades. My fave there was the PBY and the ginormous seaplanes out in the back lot. Locally we have the So...

Re: PVL on my CW
As an aside... Premium non-ethanol gas is getting harder to find. I need to make my Wombat 94 125cc engine more Regular-grade fuel friendly. One way to do that might be to upgrade to an ignition with a variable timing advance. Having the timing set at full advance for all rpms and throttle openings ...

Re: tired tires
My Wombat 94 shouldn't need tires for some time, but i typically think about tires ahead of time so I can get them on-sale or as-available. My Wombat came with oversize tires; the PO had concerns about the narrow stock size sinking into muddy terrain ( ;) ). The bike was fitted with Kenda K270 knobb...
