Question about turn signals operation on a 94a
From what I remember I should run the bike with the headlamp switch on the position that runs the headlamp only with the engine running. It seems when I do this, all my lights work well, except the turn signals are weak. It seems they come and go in their brightness. Is this coming from the battery ...

Re: Problem with my 94a after about one mile of riding.
I would check a wiring diagram to make certain it is wired correct thru the ignition switch, however if it runs fine for a while first, then after a while it starts to do this it sounds like a component may be heating up and only acts up when it does, like maybe a coil or as in my case it was the co...

Re: Problem with my 94a after about one mile of riding.
It would do it headlamp or not, I was trying everything to get it to ride without missing that day. It was definitely the condenser, ridden it a few times since replacing it, and problem solved.

Re: Leak from left side of engine 94a

Problem with my 94a after about one mile of riding.
My 94A starts to miss and carry on after about one mile into riding. It seems I can ride it all around my yard that is like 6 acres for about 15 mintues with no problem. Today was the first I took it out on the street legally and after about a mile it started missing, then it would be okay only brie...

Re: Leak from left side of engine 94a
When I put the engine back in I used a large deepwell socket I have to tighten it, it fits over the shift shaft and all, then I made sure I bent that washer over securely this time around. I also put a thin layer of silicone around the engine side of the sprocket where it contacts that collar that g...

Re: Leak from left side of engine 94a
I am in the process of restoring my 94A now, and upon reinvestigating this, and removing the motor from the frame, it was my sprocket nut loosened up a bit.

Engine Color 94A Wombat 1973
I have a 94A Wombat, were the engine cases originally painted silver, or just cast finished? Mine appear to have been painted silver at one time, however its really coming off. Im either going to strip it and repaint it, or just leave it bare if it was originally that way.

Re: Leak from left side of engine 94a
I think this issue came up because I now have a kickstand and the bike leans to that side now. I was previously sitting the bike on a milk crate straight up. Im gonna investigate it this weekend.

Re: Ace 100 top speed
I think an Ace 100 is similar to a road toad 100, I seem to remember the road toad I owned going almost fast enuf to ride on the highway, but it seemed like it was whining around 50 mph to the point that it just wasnt meant for highway speeds. If it has a top speed of 38 you could probably change sp...

Re: Leak from left side of engine 94a
I just recently replaced the front sprocket, im sure the nut is tight as I bent that nut keeper washer over to hold it. Now that I think of it, does the recessed side of the sprocket go towards the outside facing you. It sounds like that seal may be bad. I will have to investigate further.

Leak from left side of engine 94a
I finally got my kickstand complete over the weekend, I fabbed one from some steel I had. But since I did it, it was fine over the weekend when the bike just sat. I rode it twice since and now after riding I got a oil leak on the left side under where the front sprocket is. I see it on the under sid...

Re: What tail light/brake light bulb are you guys using?
My first bulb in the pack of two I had (1154) burnt out, the second turns out did not. It was a loose connection at the socket, must have been a fluke. I thought the 1154 was not a good candidate, I jumped the gun on the bulb "blowing". With all I read I thought for sure it was the bulb ag...

Re: 125 wombat flywheel
Be careful with the end of the crankshaft and use the correct puller. When I was younger and had a Road Toad, I ruined the end of the crankshaft simply because I had no idea that such a tool as a puller even existed, and where I Iived there was almost no info on Hodaka's let alone service info. And ...

What tail light/brake light bulb are you guys using?
I have an 1154 tail light bulb that keeps burning out the brake light, it was in the bike when I bought it burnt out, I have since burnt out two more, just the brake light portion not the tail light. I'm thinking it's not the right bulb, my speedo lights are 7.4 volt I noticed, do I need a 7.4 tail ...

I think I found a post where Roger answered this question for me already, except I misunderstood and thought I wanted the DC position, when I want the AC position where the headlamp runs only off the magneto and not the battery.

Re: combat wombat electrical problem
I had an old kawasaki 2 stroke snowmobile that had this problem, and it was an air filter that I put in it. I removed it and problem solved. I put those wire mesh cone style on it, and it was meant to run with no air filter, it was a 1978, the thinking was in the winter there was no dust LOL. I thin...

Can someone help me with switch in headlamp bucket
Im not sure I understand the switch in the headlamp bucket, I thought I remembered reading the switch should only be in one position, but im not sure which, as mine is not marked. I can say that in one position with the bike's key turned on to either key position, the tailight is not on, in the othe...

Got to ride the Wombat for the first time Sunday night
I rode the Wombat Sunday night around my small 6 acre property. It was a blast, the seat is at the upholsterer's, so I had to improvise with a rolled up piece of carpet. I cant believe how quick you have to shift from 1st to 2nd LOL, its tiny. The bike brought a few of my neighbor's out who were cur...

I had a pressure washer once that I caused the motor to be "stuck". I ran it completely out of oil, I just took it for granted that I never had to do preventative maint. on it because I bought the thing brand new, when I did obviously. It seized when I was using it, a friend of mine sugges...

Re: Carb cleaning time
I picked up a set of stubby open end wrenches years ago, they come in handy for many hard to reach nuts and bolts. One of them just fits to loosen this nut you mentioned.
