Re: 16T on Model 99 Toad Problem

I would now agree with AZ regarding the first point of contact being the edge of the side link and not the pin. I'm guessing it must be touching in the radiused area of the tin cover. Next step was to coat the tin cover with a marks-a-lot to see where the contact occurred but it was time to get the ...

Re: 16T on Model 99 Toad Problem

Thanks for the tips but this bike is in really nice shape and was rebuilt with a new sheet metal inner cover. The chain makes contact just by placing the cover back on before there is any alignment concerns. With the cover on, I could only feed the chain halfway or so into the case before it bound. ...

Re: 16T on Model 99 Toad Problem

It misses the boss but seems to have interference when I reinstall the outer cover. Likely the chain is too wide.
I'm putting a 15T back on, but would like to know if anyone has had success with a 16T on a Toad or similar.

Thanks-
Peter

16T on Model 99 Toad Problem

I just installed a 16T countershaft sprocket on our 99 Road Toad and found that there are clearance issues. We are using a Renthal R1 428 non-O-ring chain. We used this same chain with a 15/56 sprocket set for the last 2000 miles with no issues but wanted a little more top end and so ordered a 16/54...

03 Wombat 125 sprocket combination?

Hello, I'm putting together an 03 Wombat project from bits and pieces. It has a rebuilt 03 engine with SC piston, 94 rod kit, VM28 Mikuni, and expansion chamber. The model 99 chassis has Ceriani forks and Curnutt shocks with an 03 swingarm. It will be licensed for street and also used for trail and ...

Re: Looking for a model 01, 02, or 82 crankshaft

Hi Paul, Do you know what the difference is between the clutch side crank half for a model 01/02/83 part # 992702A and the model 99 part # 992702? I was thinking it might be the diameter where the needle bearings ride since the former utilizes caged bearings and the latter uses loose needle bearings...

Re: removing ethenol from fuel

The first time I encountered Ethanol was when all the rubber seals on my 87 Jeep's fuel injectors failed simultaneously. That was $400 worth of new injectors. The last time was this summer when I made the mistake of using Ethanol on my 50-year old Homelite C9 chainsaw and the rubberized carb diaphra...

Hi Paul,
I have an 03 Wombat engine that I want to do a crank conversion on using the 94 connecting rod and an 01, 02, or 82 crankshaft.
Thank-you,

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the note, I'll be placing an order. Hopefully a crankshaft will be found!

Re: removing ethenol from fuel

40-years ago, when I was much younger, I began learning about motorcycles by hanging out at my neighbor's shop. He was a high school biology teacher. He would add just a little alcohol to his fuel to absorb any water that might have gotten into his bike's tank. Now we are looking at adding water to ...

Looking for a model 01, 02, or 82 crankshaft

Hello,
I'm looking for a model 01, 02, or 82 crankshaft to rebuild.
Would anyone have one with good crank halves and shafts that is surplus to their needs?

Thank-you,

Peter
