Re: My Hodaka Dirt Squirt
I found my owners manual for my Hodaka, it was what the shop owner gave me. It wasn’t the exact model but was good for reference. It says what it was written by me back then ((1975 Dirt Squirt with 1972 Super Rat 125 engine). On the back was the repair cost written by the Hodaka/Can Am shop owner me...

1977 Road Toad
I have a 1977 Road Toad in good complete original condition. I’m thinking of selling, I just have too many projects right now. I have had the bike running it shifts well, engine seemed a little weak, rings might be stuck it’s been setting a long time. It will need to be gone through. I do have the t...

Re: Air Leak Down test reveals porous inlet manifold
I have enough stuff to almost build two leak down testers. The aluminum piece I’m planning on turning down on my lathe to fit in the intake manifold.

Looks good! What are you pressuring it with? I’m going to use my small engine carburetor leak tester.

What are you using for a leak down tester? I’m in the process of building one and using my small engine carburetor leak tester to pressurize it.

Re: Clutch won’t disengage
Several trials bikes I’ve had our local shop recommended ATF to use in the transmission. On the vintage Rotax engines I have had a lot of people recommend ATF-typeF, doesn’t have the detergents, was made for vintage Ford vehicles. I was thinking of using ATF on the Hodaka at least to free the clutch...

Re: Clutch won’t disengage
If I do have to take the clutch apart, is it pretty easy? I know Hodakas have a different shifting mechanism than I’m used too. I haven’t worked on a Hodaka since I was 15, about 40 years ago! I’ve had three clutches apart on the Rotax 2 stroke bikes I have recently (maintenance, oil seals in cover,...

Re: Clutch won’t disengage
It had old nasty oil, I’m letting it drain overnight. What is a good oil to put in it? I was riding around with the clutch pulled in, didn’t make difference. Hoping some new good oil will help before I have to take it apart.

Clutch won’t disengage
I have a 1977 Road Toad that’s been sitting for a long time. I recently cleaned the carb, tank and replaced the fuel filter and fuel line. I also replaced the points and condenser. It starts and runs decent but the clutch won’t disengage. I just roll start it and rode it around hoping it would start...

Road Toad Petcock
I have a 1977 Hodaka Road Toad that could use a fuel petcock. I found a few that might fit (I need to get some measurements), anything out there that fits? Thanks

Re: My Hodaka Dirt Squirt
SWEEEEET! The Stage II Digger kit included a head ported for reeds, a drilled piston, a reed cage, 28mm carb and a higher compression head. It was a bolt-on hop up kit. Yours might have had a Webco 125cc jug and all the fixins. COOL!!! Where's the scooter now? I remember the bike was a strong runne...

My Hodaka Dirt Squirt
I found these pictures of my Hodaka Dirt Squirt today. Pictures were taken in 1977. I traded a Rupp mini bike that I fixed up for the non running Hodaka from my cousin. I did the points and cleaned the carb and got it running again. It ran good until one of my other cousins ran it wide open in too l...
