Combat wombat muffler

Post by 34Rick »

Hi to everyone, I am new to the club and a new Hodaka owner I’m currently restoring a 68 ace and just bought a 73 combat to restore next, my thanks to strictly Hodaka for sending me here, I am in need of a muffler or at least an expansion chamber. They tell me the stock muffler is a flame thrower if anyone knows of one please let me know I sure would appreciate it.

Depends on which generation. The Combat Wombat has a flamethrower pipe on the 1st gen bikes, Jan-March or maybe early April. If it has shouldered rims AKA mud catchers. It should get a flamethrower pipe. If it has shoulderless rims, then it should get the later pipe.

First gen early mods also get grey cables & grips while 2nd gen get black cables & grips. There was a few mid gen bikes which had some but but not all the changes. :ugeek: Victor

Then you’ll want the flamethrower style exhaust for it, as shown in the photo below. :ugeek: Victor

Well, at least I know what it looks like thanks I think it’s going to be a very hard find I’m excited about this bike I’ll get started as soon as the ace is done maybe something will come along I see Hodaka part Idaho showed a pipe from a company called j&j engineering I called the number but no response may be an old posting but that pipe was an expansion chamber I would be ok with that
