This guy has been recommended by Rick Mott on several occasions. Prices have gone up $10 in the past year. But he’ll stamp any frame number you give him and tell him when it was manufactured.

Here’s the most accurate chart. You can estimate the month from the year of manufacture by the range the frame number falls into.

I would divide the total number of bikes made that year by 12. Then estimate where your frame number falls in the range by dividing your frame number by the last frame number for that year. This should give you a percentage figure which you can convert into a month. :ugeek: Victor

Your best bet for finding a month/year for your bike is to list your VIN number, you don't have to list the whole number, just the first few characters, such as A-656##. Then ask if anyone has a close VIN number and see when theirs was produced. They were made in batches over a month or two, and then another model would be produced, so it didn't go 100 this month, 100 the next month, etc.

That's cool, Pierce also made fancy cars there were called Pierce Arrow. Your emblem shows a arrow also. And thank you for letting me purchase the model 98 super rat in ST Cloud some while back. I think I found it on Craigs list? ------ Clarence

Several lines are in error not that anyone made an error it is just that I see some numbers different than I remember. Line 7 and 8, 100B's made back to back, (it is my belief that after the first batches of the model 93MX super rat's Hodaka they finished off their run of ace 100 model 92's) and that changes things. so i should explain my confusion with the chart that victor brought up . starting with the original data row. the frame in question , wombat frame , the numbers start out at 23,24,27,25,28,26,& 30 , why the jumping around . it starts with a wombat frame at 23 , than a combat frame at 24 , than it has a wombat frame at 27 then back to a combat frame at 25 than back to a wombat frame at 28 back to a combat frame at 26 and ends with a super combat at 30, 29 is for the dirt squirt. so did they make all the combats in order or did they stop after a run and jump to wombats ? now on to the beg frame #s and ending #s . starts at 0001 and ends at 29600, when you start adding up the numbers they don't match up either but are close enough to be ok, that's fine . on the top of the chart in between engine letter and numbered produced there's A/C ,what does that signify ? and now on to the cum. product on line 26 it reads 99304 than jumps to 112404 than back down to 108504 . we found that after 99304 it should read 103204 than 112404 the 108504 is a error . same thing happens on line 35 . so i kind of got confused on all the numbers moving around , so to take all frames made in that year 1973 or do you take just the combat frames to figure this out ? in the end a educated guess is good enough . it was a good math day in the end ....albert

Not positive, but the very early Ace 90's (and possibly the very early Ace 100's) came with just a small plate with frame number riveted above the left shock.

Out on the limb and the branch could brake, you are correct about the ace 90 small stamped plate above the left rear shock. The ace 100 was a larger stamped frame number above the left rear shock, no aluminum plate. I think the 100B's 92A, 92B and 92B+ had the frame stamped like the ace 100 and had a aluminum badge held on with pins, fastened to the front of the frame. with date serial number ect. correct us ------------ Clarence
