Captain Eddie Spoke Identification Study

Post by dirty_rat »

Captain Eddie,

Back a few years ago you posted in the Resonator Revisited (Volume 2, issue 3) an article about spoke identification and asked for input. Just wondering if anyone ever passed on the information you were looking for and if so what the results were.

Thanks

I don't think my one reader of that era had any interest in spokes. No one sent in any data.

Okay, thanks. I have a few random spokes around and was hoping to id them. I'll just check them against wheels I have to see if they are the same. Thanks anyway.

So, if they ARE the same as the spokes in the wheels you have . . . and if you KNOW what wheels you have . . . then mayhaps you could provide some spoke data??? ;)

Sounds like a worthy article for the the next Resonator. How about y’all coughing up some solid, known spokes as baseline?
Can someone (spoke vendor?) provide correct data for specific spokes?

Ed,
Saw your updated article in the Resonator Revisited. Was wondering if you could post the excel spreadsheet here so it could be downloaded? Thanks

It appears that I can't attach the spoke spreadsheet to a response message. I'm happy to share the information . . . just not sure how to go about it.

Ed. I have spokes which I removed from the front wheel (19”?) of a 1973 Model 96 Dirt Squirt. What do you want? Pics of spoke(s) with a tape measure along side? :ugeek: Victor

Ed,
Came through fine this time. But, like you have also noted, there doesn't seem to be a way of attaching an excel file to a post. I will check with the web master and see if there is a way.
