100 miles per gallon

Post by efkruger »

with the situation in the world, it seems world war III could break out any day now. Those of us with motorcycles will be at a definite advantage because gas will just go to who knows what price. With our Hodakas getting around a hundred miles to the gallon, that will be a real good thing to have to get around on. The shortage and prices of gas, if there is war, will keep many cars off the roads. This would also make it safer for bikes on the highway. I cant help but think of these things every time I watch the news. Thanks gentlemen

Well, when one considers what will happen during WWIII (should it happen), you'll be lucky to get through about one tank of fuel before nobody's riding anything. As a result, you might as well own and drive a Hummer or a Rolls Royce, at least that last ride will be a comfortable one.

When hurricane Harvey hit we could not get gas here in central texas for a while. I bought a couple of 55 gallon drums and keep gas in reserve now, using it occassionally in my vehicle to keep the gas fresh in the 55 gallon drums and replenish it. Just one 55 gallon drum will give me 5,500 miles of travel on my Hodie. That will last along time.

When gas was not available I used one of my bikes to get around with for several days until gas became available again. It was nice to have it and a few gallons of fuel in gas cans. That's when I got to thinking about a little reserve on hand. Thanks Gentlemen.
