Ace 100 non-cushhub rear sprocket.

Post by RichardMott »

Does anyone coming to Hodaka Days 2015 have a decent non-Cush-Hub rear sprocket, about 50 tooth, they are willing to part with for a fair price? The one on my restore 1970 Ace 100 bike is a bit worn. It also is not original style. Looks bad on the bike.

I think Mike was asking me.
So, Mike, do you have one? I should have asked sooner since I saw you just last week. Duh!

I have this one, 52 tooth, new, but has a quarter inch spacer tack welded to the back which I used to align sprockets. The spacer can be removed by cutting the four tacks with a Dremel.

Yes. If interested make an offer. My wife would be pleased if I sold anything I am not using.

I have a decent one, although there is a crack starting at one of the " spokes". This would always happen when used, so some additional small steel plates were welded to these sprockets. This one is not modified yet. Crack could be welded, dressed off and the sprocket zinc plated if one would want one for a restoration.

Paul maintains this site through profits from SH. He sells these sprockets at a reasonable price. Would be good business to not sell, buy products he sells on his site. Just a thought.

Paul does not have any of these. That is why I am looking elsewhere. None in ebay either.

I was looking for an early Ace 100. I guess the 93 Rat has the same hub. It is not listed on Paul's site under an Ace 100.

The sprocket Paul has listed is specific to a #423 chain. I believe the ACE 100 uses a #420.

Yes. I thought thought ace 100 were 423. But I could be wrong. Check with Paul. I know he also has a bunch of nos sprockets that have "blemishes" that he sells as used as well.

Good luck.

A search on this site for the #420 sprocket shows he has a 46 and a 52 tooth. The stock 50 is not showing up. The link below is the 52 tooth. I am not sure about fitting the ACE 100 as the Compatibility Spreadsheet shows the this number only fits the model 93 Super Rat. Look up the part number that you want on the schematic of your model then search his site for that number. But as Gary said he may have some that are not in his database. (Remember he will be in Australia from 5/23 - 6/10)

100B and model 93 Rat used the same hub, same four bolt pattern, same dish design. The 100B had the 36 tooth with 50 tooth overlay, used for road/trail. Rat of course was pure off-road so used no overlay. The reference on the link to the sprocket being specific to 423 chain is erroneous. Both the 100B and 93 used 420, and the part on the website is for a 420 sprocket. It is where I got mine which I was going to use on my Webco kitted 93 engine, but went with a 97 engine instead. That's why I have the 52 but won't be using it. Up to you Rick. PM if interested and I will toss it into the RV.

That makes sense. That is the sprocket Paul sent me for my 93 rat restore. It worked perfectly. I know the 93 came with a 50t but they are impossible to find. Paul suggested the 52. T looks great
