'73 (94A) Wombat skid plate needed

Post by TrophyHunter »

Based on the schematic and asking a few folks, there is no stock skid plate for the bike. A Road Toad plate workaround was suggested and I've seen a few '76 plates on ebay but mine doesn't have tabs to bolt to for that plate. Yeah, I could make one out of something but would like to stick with a Hodaka product and figure a mounting system.

The 40 year old tires came off over the weekend and she got new shoes, so now I'm looking for protection.

I appreciate any input. Thx.

Thx Kelly and Rick. Kelly has a Webco I'll look at. Bought the one you linked, Rick and might grab one from BikeBoneYard off a Road Toad. See what the best fit/attachment is and go from there.

Appreciate the input.

I mounted a Road Toad plate with electrical conduit "D" connectors. Came out great. I got them from Home Depot in the electrical dept. One downside is you cannot adjust the footpeg mount without removing the skid plate, but that is fine by me. I also spray painted that rubber coating on the underside of the plate to retard rust and dings.

Thx for the tip on the D connectors. And thx to Kelly for the Webco aftermarket plate! Good seein' you and the garage full of toys. Still have the other 2 plates comin' but after a short round with a 3 lb sledge, the Webco fit. Just need a D connector or two.
