SL is a street legal model and the Ed is a offroad style enduro. But depending on where you live the Ed could be street legal.

It's surprising how many differences there are between the SL and ED, e.g., trans ratios, handlebars, seat,, cylinder, rear brake rod and arm, etc. I would have thought Hodaka could have kept costs down if the SL configuration was more of an ED with street gear.

Well here it is. Found laying in blackberrys, . All the aluminum parts are in fairly good shape . The seat pan and pipe did not like the NW weather. What year would it be ? Thanks

Looks like a great project bike to me im surprised the forks don't have more pitting on them going by
the condition of that seat base.Think the dog was a 76 model. Great find !

How much of it still moves and turns? When I got my SL the front whee and steering head were only moving/turning parts - this bike looks like more of the same. But somehow my head pipe elbow survived, even though it was full of water.
Your top end, crank, and magneto are probably rusted solid. I eventually got the SL engine apart by soaking it in white vinegar for a few weeks. Nothing would unstick the rings from the piston until I soaked it in a 50/50 mix of PineSol and water. Good luck and let household chemistry do a lot of the work for you.
