Registration
I'm curious, here in Minnesota I have 3 bikes that are registered for the street. 1 is a hodaka B+, next is a 94 wombat then a 2005 yamaha v-star 1100 and for a yearly registration fee they all cost 21.25 at the dmv office or 20. 25 if you mail it in . What is it like in other states.i would like to add our local registration office is very efficient and helpful .....albert

We voted in $30 tabs but a judge ruled we didn't know 'what we were voting for
So we have around $100 tabs

Re: Registration
"or there abouts" is actually $78.25 per year here in WA. Classic plates are available for your Hodaka (any brand 30 years or older) for a one time fee at a much reduced fee.Roland the Headless wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 6:54 pm $100 Here in WA

Re: Registration
Here in Vermont it's up to $58.00. It used to be that anyone, anywhere in the country, could register a motorcycle over 15 years old, or under 300cc without a title in Vermont. It looks like that's been changed now.

Re: Registration
Here in NM, we can provide documentation that the bike is “Garage Built.” They will treat it the same as if you had built the bike from scratch & has never been registered. I provide documentation of the rebuild, and get a BOLO clearance to prove the bike isn’t reported stolen. The Stare Police send the inspection directly to the DMV, and they issue a new title. Then the bike can be registered & licensed. It takes a while because of the paperwork transfer, but as long as you’re not in a hurry it’s a doable process. Victor

Re: Registration
i should also add that when i finish a build i take a picture of the engine number and frame number and pictures of all 4 sides , front , back , right and left sides . turn it in to dmv and they will look at them make sure that nothing is out of order then issue a title
Re: Registration
We have to take the vehicle in to MVD for inspection to get it registered. But the pictures assist in providing proof that the bike was garage built. Also simplifies any questions about why the motor and frame numbers don’t match. Victor

Re: Registration
The two Wombats I have registered here in Alaska cost $110 each for a lifetime registration. Both of them had lost titles with no record of them in our DMV database. I had to have them appraised by a local car dealer and get a "surety bond" in order to get titles for them. Pretty simple, but cost another $100 for each one.
