Kick Start rubber

Post by scase-WA »

Ok, do any of you pros have a suggestion or a proven method of getting the new rubber onto the kickstarter without splitting the seam? I tried heating in microwave but that didn't do a bit of good other than to weaken the seam. The rubber on my shifter went on pretty easily that damned kick starter is a different story! Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I take mine and soak them in warm water (almost hot!) for a couple of minutes. Make sure you start it on while it’s still very warm and use the larger hole (it’s larger at one end than at the other). Good luck. If you get them from Terry and they are hard, he may replace it for you. :ugeek: Bictor

Ah. Perhaps that was my issue, I didn't realize the ends had different sized holes. Thanks as always Victor. I Did get it from Terry.
