Combat Wombat Enduro/Cross Reed Valve

Post by drbridge »

I have recently acquired an enduro/cross reed valve cylinder for my Combat Wombat. I do not have a reed valve for it. I am trying to figure out what would be an appropriate reed valve that I can use with this cylinder. I have an original 28mm flange mount carb, but as far as I can tell the only reed valve set up that would except that carb is the original DH reed valve that came with the Enduro/Cross kit, and I think it will be hard to find one of those. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You could relocate the intake manifold bolts and install a late model Hodaka 100 or 125 reed valve assembly. Might need to do some port matching and would use a spigot mount carb.

There are still some of the DH reed valves and some GEM reed valves (which should also work) out there. I see them pop up on ebay from time to time. Also, if you are on facebook, go to the hodaka groups/pages and put in a request, you might find one that way.
Also, check with hodaka-parts.com and California Hodaka, they might have what you need, new or used.

I second the idea of at least doing a bit of searching for the period correct reed valve unit. Who knows you might just find one!

I will spend some more time looking to see what I come up with. Would be much easier to find original reed valve. so I can Use the stock carb I have.
