New to the game!!
Just saved this ace 100 that was literally online for the dump haha! The motor definitely turns and has some compression outside of that I’m new to any non American cycle can’t wait to get into!! My first question is how do I determine what rebuild kit to buy? Thanks a ton!
Re: New to the game!!
You can get everything you need from Terry Larson at Hodaka-Parts.com
Bottom end rebuild kits, top end kits with piston, rings and gaskets, and you can send them your cylinder for boring as well.
It’s also recommended that you replace the kick shaft bearing retainer with the newer HD version. If you know what you need you can order it from Terry. If you don’t know what you need, Terry can advise you!
Terry’s hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM CST & Thursday 10:00 - 12 noon CST. He doesn’t answer on Fridays because they spend the entire day finishing up packing orders.
Terry’s phone number is, (314) 313-5635.
If you have questions you can also contact me at (505) 913-0558. I live in Santa Fe, NM, Mountain Standard Time! Victor

I would start with seals and gaskets you will need them. Other than that, the condition of the other other engine parts and the acceptable tolerances would dictate what to order. I would not bore and use a new piston, if it was good to go. ---- Clarence
