Pull Here to Start.

Post by hodakamax »

For those not on Facebook. Interesting proposed starter for my 2 the Max speed project. Can be a road racer but another use would to be to see how fast a 100cc Hodaka, which has a GPS recording speedometer, could go. Starter assembly and internal gear/shaft removed for weight and slightly more power by removing the ever-spinning starting gear partially submersed in crankcase oil. Plus all of this is in the way of rear-set controls. Push start planned but more than one-person needed. You fold up on this machine, not push this extremely hi-geared machine to speed and just jump on. Powered rollers an option but yet another machine to build. I'd like to start this in the shop. Not real yet, just a vision I had one morning while waking up. Pull recoil starter. About the only place to put it like this fake photo. No flywheel w/battery ignition makes this easier to design the engaging assembly to the end of the crank. Should work but I'm behind on several projects and this is just an idea that would probably work, a fun discussion at the minimum. Actually I'm trying to trick someone to build and test this so I won't have to do this down the line. Could just be a bench starter that goes on with three screws, maybe to start that Hodaka powered go-cart or whatever. Maxie 8-)

I put your tool box in there to see if you were paying attention, something the Old man drug in. Do I need to send it back? Your hammer driver and flywheel puller did come in handy as the Old man borrowed mine. Could be under the bench or worse yet....Raccoons! :? Maxie
