If you’re in Ohio, would you consider driving to Union, Missouri? Terry Larson, the owner of Hodaka-Parts, Inc. has numerous bikes of numerous models in differing conditions. You can buy one “As Is” and do the restoration yourself. Terry is the world’s largest provider of Hodaka parts, both new & used.

Or, you can discuss with Terry about having the bike worked on to be a Survivor condition, or, if it’s what you want, a more restored condition.

Don’t know if you think Union is too far away. Personally, I’ve driven 400 miles, one way, to pick up a couple of bikes!

Where in Ohio are you located? :ugeek: Victor

OIC. You’re looking for a bike which was originally sold in Ohio. Was this like your first bike you’re looking for? Sorry for the confusion. Thought you were looking for any bike in the Ohio area. :ugeek: Victor

Gotcha! Best of luck!

Just thinking out loud here….Maybe try taking out an ad in something like Craig’s List and local Thrifty Nickels and those types. Give them the name of your grandfather’s shop & state you’re looking for a bike purchased from that shop. :ugeek: Victor

You are about four months late. Every July at Mid-Ohio they have Vintage Motorcycle days. It has one of the biggest swap meets around. You might have been able to find something like that there. If you don't have any luck in your search, there is always next year.

You need to do mid Ohio every year because it changes every time, wasn’t a lot of Hodaka’s this year and what was there wasn’t in the best of condition. But it may be the opposite next year.

Quick question

If I were to locate a bike is there a data base anywhere that would have the original shop it was sold out if

We lost all paperwork related to the shop

I have located a few bikes but they don’t have past purchase history or original owner

I would run a add in a local trade paper. locally the cycle shops remember allot, We have a historical, antique, motorcycle group. I do not think there is a record of who sold what, the distributor probably handled all of that. ---------- Clarence
