Hodaka Trials

I have seen pictures of Hodaka trials bikes, was there an actual trials model? Or are they just modified for trials?

Hodaka did not offer a designated, purpose-built trials model. Many were modified for trials application.

Any idea what they did to modify for trials? regear lower? Flywheel weight?

They PABATCO published a pamphlet on this and it is a very good one! ------------Clarence

The things I have done to my Ace 100B+ to make it a trials bike were the following.

1. 62 tooth rear sprocket
2. moved the foot pegs back to make front end lifting easier.

2016 look

3. plastic tank and fenders.
4. 1.5 LB increase in flywheel weight.
5. IRC trials tires. 2.50-21 front, 4.00 18 rear.
6. skid plate.
7. custom small seat.
8. Chain tensioner
9. Optional; Read valve, 24 mm Mikuni, Webco high compression head.
10. lengthen the swing arm by 2 inches.

What model is this bike? Make a good Trials bike?

Looks to be an early Ace. Frame and motor numbers would narrow the model and year.

It looks to be a 1968 Model 92 Ace 100. I will let someone else comment on how it would be for a trials bike project.
