Check out the pictures of the rod on this Larry Powell flattracker I have. Never seen a rod ground down like that, Paul said Harry use to do it also. The crank is also stuffed and looks to be balanced or something as some pins were added near the crank pin. It also had some self aligning main bearings I guess you call them, they are able to float a little in the race. I was going to replace them but they seem in pretty good shape and the ones I had were just standard 6204 c3 style. This guy did some nice work and was really into details.
