Kano Kroil works great. I have yet to try Acetone/ATF 50:50 blend.

All you need to do to get a tool similar to Ed's, is to go to the nearest music store and get one of these. It will give you a different way to "tune" your engine.

One other question. Is the kick start lever mounted correctly? It looks odd to me, but I never saw it mounted. I know it's the correct one as I checked the parts list both in my book & on line. But it sure looks like it is positioned back too far.

Just pivot the kick lever forward...

I would highly recommend the C 512 tuning fork.
This will help in avoiding "flats" caused by " sharp" objects.

Obtained a replacement cylinder today. The one with the buggered exhaust bridge can sit under my work bench until I need a bigger bore. Now back to building.

I feel stupid for having beat up that bridge. But hey Ed. I will volunteer to be your "Dentist" if you want to come down to Santa Fe. ; p Victor

Um, I don't think the Dremel is the right tool for that work either, so thanks for the offer - but I think I'll pass. :-)

Got the cylinder. Did the relief work on the exhaust bridge & painted the cylinder. Gotta go back to the mail box and see if the new rings came. ; D Victor

Parts have been trickling in. I got a top rod bearing today. I still need a set of .020 rings for a 50.50mm bore cylinder. I can't seem to find anyone with a correct set.

I got a set that were in a box marked 50mm .020. But when I took them out they were as big in diameter as the outer sleeve of the cylinder skirt! So they must have been in the wrong box.

In fact I may keep them for my Wombat. They were the same size as the left over bottom ring I had for my Wombat which is also .020 over. Never know.

So if anyone knows where I can get a set of 50.50mm .020 rings for the RT let me know. I see them on some sites with piston sets for top end rebuild kits, but not just a set of rings. ; D Victor

I need to get finished with this first Road Toad. I put Yanabond between the case halves because it was so highly recommended. I read someone said spread it on thinly, with a knife. So I did. I guess it was too thin. The bike sat for a while, with the motor on the frame, during the exhaust bridge fiasco and all, or most of the oil has leaked out.
I sealed the Model 94 bottom end with RTV. It hasn't leake a drop of oil in over a years time.

Someone please tell me how thick a bead of Yamabond is actually needed to make a good, leakproof seal! I don't want to be pulling motors repeatedly because the case seal isn't working. Thanks. ; D Victor
