What type and how much oil should my 1972 Hodaka Wombat take.

you will get different answers as what kind, IMO keep it simple belray 80wt 581cc's or 1and 1/4 pints

Belray 80wt is also what I use. Remember the current 80wt transmission oils are about the viscosity of 30wt from back in the day.

I will add that is also difficult to get more than 16 ounces drained out (without removing the clutch cover). So if you just drain via the drain bolt, tip the bike back and forth a good bit and then start out by adding something less than the 20 oz capacity.
