Combat prototype serial #003
Re: Combat prototype serial #003
Jack he did own some but not all the bikes. His Trials bike and others were sold by PABATCO at the auction in Tri-Cities.
His road racer was part of the PABATCO museum display and then sold to Wheels of Time at PABATCO's end.
Good to hear from you Jack!

Re: Combat prototype serial #003
Up to 5300 with about 50 minutes left....
Re: Combat prototype serial #003
What did Brian's bike sell for ??
Re: Combat prototype serial #003
Bidding stopped at 5300. Didn't make the 7000 reserve.
Re: Combat prototype serial #003
Still a good deal of money for the bike. Brian has tested the waters and I hope he does sell it. Thanks Brian for toning down the "prototype" and "pre-production" in the sales description.
A majority of the PABATCO guys are very very busy right now with the holidays coming and my pestering them for answers to Hodaka book questions. A few of them have gotten back to me and the consensus is that the bike was most likely brought into PABATCO and most likely was an employee's bike. The bike was an original low numbered bike and over time some very cool optional add-ons were done to modify the bike. Later style KYB shocks and folding shift lever were not available in 1972. The reed valve and Super Rat carb were a good improvement too. Nice bike !!
Thank you
Paul
