30mm ceriani forks

Post by tvrc18 »

I have a pair of 30mm Ceriani forks that one tube was frozen and would not budge. Some how moisture had gotten in the tubes and rusted the piston on the damper rod eneogh to sieze up the works. After much soaking in evaporust, marvel mystery oil, wd 40, heat etc I finally got it apart. I hope the damper rod is going to be usuable but if not does any one have a bent broke set they may have a spare damping rod they would be willing to let go? I am in the process of soaking it in evaporust and hope I am going to be able to save it but not sure.

Looks like the piston has the most damage and the rod may be usable. Still would like a better option.
