Re: Transmission oil
Thanks Max... Yep, I have learned a long time ago about offering unfounded opinions as someone may action may take them ;-) Plus, if I said anything here without some basis of fact my good friend Cap't Eddie would rip me a new "opinion" LoL... I do want to emphasis that all of the suggeste...

Re: Transmission oil
Well..... Once again use whatever oil the spirit moves but I bet to differ ATF today does not have ratings we use in our bike. Type F rating has NOT changed and is highly recommended by many wet clutch manufacturers back then and today. When I put my Barnett Racing Clutch in my Harley the instructio...

Re: Transmission oil
This conversation comes up many times and there are as many opinions. I personally use NON-Synthetic ATF Type F. I am NOT going to get into any debates on what is the best. I have raced A LOT and never lost a tranny....So it works for me AND my clutches do not slip. IF you are going to use ATF, I hi...

Battery Drain
Hi All, Well I thought I had all my light issues worked out on my ACE100 with the new battery. So I had the key OFF for a month or so and I go to ride the bike and I had all the same symptoms with the lights again. Headlight on at handle bar - no horn or tail light. Head light off - Horn and Tail Li...

Looking for a Squirt or Toad
Hey Ya'll, I am looking for a Model 99, 01 or 02 100cc for my Grandson to race a little 100 Vintage Cross Country. Anyone out there got one? I could go with the Model 96 if need be... They are in FL and I am in MD. I don't need lights and all that stuff. I just want a runner that someone does not th...

Re: ACE Light Issues
Dale, So first of all thanks. Now, the was NOT battery in the circuit so the dead cell deal was not not. I do have that dimmer switch and it works that way. My key is the standard one that starts with a 3. I do have the three position switch. I put a MODERN Sealed Battery in this thing. They are les...

Re: ACE Light Issues
Problem solved. Early Ace... Needs Battery in circuit. Key Position 1 is headlight only. Key Position 2 is All lights. WIthout Battery in circuit the bike misfires of idle and tail light and horn will not work at all when head light is plugged in. With Battery EVERYTHING works PERFECT! Bob In MD

Re: ACE Light Issues
Thanks all, If you read my posts... I did say the following. I am getting a battery. It is on the way now. I have AC Voltage in the correct amounts on all the right wires. I checked all of those points with the lights disconnected first. I also have printed out both wiring diagrams and own every Hod...

Re: ACE Light Issues
Thanks! I guess it could be a coil but all three wires have voltage. I am going to get a Battery and put it in the circuit to eliminate that variable. Then on to more fun. Maybe I will just but a 6v battery on handlebars and run the light if I see a cop!

Re: ACE Light Issues
I have the right light for sure. I just messed with it more. This is old 10090 setup for sure. when I plug the dark blue wire and complete headlight circuit in, not only does tail light go out but the bike runs terrible. misses off idle.... I grounded the headlight switch with a second wire. Only th...

Re: ACE Light Issues
Dale, Thanks for your response. It was very helpful! I did not even think about using the ACE 90 diagram instead of the ACE 100 one with the E-Switch! The E-Switch is what I thought it was - THANKS for confirming that :-)! Ok, I hear you on the battery but it is still odd. The Headlight works. The T...

Re: We just lost another good guy!
Harlan was the first person I worked with when I did my Hodaka Redo in 2002. He became a good friend and Mentor to me. I spent many hours with him at his shop in PA working on bikes. He built Wombat'N'Stein initially and put that signature Maico Tank on it in 2002!! I have been racing that bike ever...

Thanks Rick, it was a great event and a great day. Such fun... Yes Ed, the Tadpole is certainly personal preference and lack of skill with a torch... We have gone round and round on my design. It is fun and it turns heads for the brand. I can't ride trials worth a hoot any way so I am good with my l...

All, There is NO REASON to pay someone big bucks to do this for you - it is SOOOO easy and all they are doing is exactly what you can do! I have done two bikes with VT. The first one was the 92 ACE a few years ago. My brother "Sold" it to me on an Maryland Bill of Sale. No notary required ...

Thanks Britt. I like your Zappa Quote. So many words of wisdom from him and his songs. I have always subscribed to watching out where the Huskies go and not eating yellow snow personally....

Re: Brooks is broken
Rick,
I am out of the sling and two winged now. It all feels weird but does not hurt too much.
Looks like I could do the Bad Rock. If I only had a bike LOL. I don't think I could do MX but a nice ride would be fun!!!
That is Friday right?

RIck,
Don't know for sure. Would love, love, love to do it. I see the doctor on the 15th of June for final XRay and clearance... He said not contact sports for 90 days so playing on the Redskins is out.
