Sorry for the late reply. I don't know how to decode the VIN. Sorry......... Wish I was more help.

Look on the top edge of the swing arm mount on the left side of the bike. That is where my VIN is on my Steen. Check out the thread "Steen Serial number"

Mine is stamped on the edge of the swing arm tab. It's barely visible on this bike, because of the powder coating.

Bought a pipe for my Steen from Randy. Got talking Hodakas, and of course your name came up. He sent me this picture. Really nice guy.

It was my first time to Hodaka Days. Brought these 3 with me. Met so many nice people and had a great time. Already making plans for next year!

Yes they do have a spark arrestor/with stamp on them. I know where there might be a really nice pipe for sale. 1 tiny (almost invisible) dent, ceramic coated, and rechromed exhaust guards.....

Here's mine when I found it at a swapmeet.

My frame is stamped on the left side of the bike, on the top edge of the swing arm mount tab. It is hard to see in this picture, because of the powder coating. Click on the picture and you can see the numbers better.
