Re: 32mm Ceriani Front End

Larry S wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 4:08 am I put 32mm Penton Ceriani forks on my Ace 100B. It was a direct bolt on. I had to make new stops to keep the forks from hitting the tank. The Penton trees are wider than the Hodakas so you need the Penton axle. I'm sure the CW would be similar.

Thank you, Larry S. I'll give it a try.

32mm Ceriani Front End

I have come in to possession of a couple of complete 32mm Ceriani Front Ends. One is from a Penton. I'd like to mount one of them on my Combat Wombat. Any advice, information, or instruction would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Looking for Spark Arrestor for 95

Are you looking for part 66 on the parts diagram? At Hodaka Parts Inc when you click on that it shows the one for the model 94. If it is that part I have 3 extras. A while back when they were unavailable I had a someone make several for me. They cost me $25 each. If you want one I would just ask yo...

Re: Looking for Spark Arrestor for 95

Does anyone know if the Spark Arrestor on the 92B, 92B+, 93B, or 94 will work on a 95 Flame Thrower?

Re: 30mm Front Forks

Wow. So, according to the schematics, the 97, 98, 99, 01, and 02 basically have the "Fork Mod" built in to them already and they got rid of the spacers and added a longer springs. I'd bet they were decent little front ends.

Re: 30mm Front Forks

Just as an add on, there are different length springs for the 30mm forks. The original springs were used in the model 92b, 93, 94, 95 and 96 (part# 938756). The Super Combat had a different spring(part# 978756) . The model 98 Super Rat came with another spring which was also used in the model 99, 0...

Looking for Spark Arrestor for 95

I am looking for the spark arrestor, that fits in the tip end of the silencer, on a 95 Combat Wombat flame thrower exhaust pipe.

Pre-Load Spacer

Has anyone ever used a cut off piece of spring (like a used stock fork spring), for a pre-load spacer, instead of a solid (pvc, etc...) pre-load spacer?

Re: 30mm Front Forks

In the attached photo part # 7 is a hat shaped metal guide that goes on top of the spring. Part # 8 is a spacer that goes on top of the spring and spring guide. Part # 8 is around 4" long and provides spring pre-load. You can make this spacer out of PVC pipe or metal conduit. Then you can make...

Re: 30mm Front Forks

matt glascock - It has new springs and new fork tube caps. There wasn't anything else on top of the springs, when I disassembled them. Is there supposed to be something else?

socalhodaka - It is a Model 95 Combat Wombat.

Thank you, socalhodaka. Those are nice. But, I got in too big of a hurry and have already ordered a universal set elsewhere. But, I will keep you in mind, for my next project.

30mm Front Forks

My 30mm Front Forks are still stock. I have just replaced the fork seals and stock fork springs. I added 5 ounces of 30 weight fork oil. There is about 1-2" of very soft easy movement in them. Is that normal?

Plastic Rear Fender

I will be racing my Combat Wombat in Vintage Cross Country. I don't want to beat up my stock rear fender. Are there any aftermarket plastic fenders that will work, with minimum modification. I have a new Preston Petty rear fender, which is very nice, but it is too big. Thanks for any input.

I think this is what Dal is talking about, from https://ironandair.com/blogs/news/hodaka "For 25 cents, readers could order a pamphlet — The Hodaka Story — that explained the company’s philosophy, preached about how riding should be fun and affordable and claimed that because the backcountry f...

Re: Swinging arm thread.

A cool idea occurred to me after reading the recent rear suspension thread posted by Dal Aymond. I would be willing to donate a swinging arm if anyone with legit welding skills would be willing to extend and reinforce it properly. I'd even throw in a chain. Then, the kit could be passed around amon...

I just ran across a good article, on extending the swingarm, in the Resonator Volume 2 Number 20, by Max Good.
