Cleaned the shop, where'd those parts go...crap.

Just before I went away for a week, I decided to clean the shop. Figured it would be cool to come home to a clean organized shop. After a week of sun, surf and about 200 or so frozen drinks I returned to the sucky Northeast. First day in the shop I decided to tackle the carb and throttle cable that ...

Guys,
After Bruce provided some much needed tech info, I motored ahead at 'warped' speed. I am going out oft hearer for a while and wanted to face something different looking upon return. Everything shy of the chain and fuel hook ups and some smalls, this is it. My ace 90 survivor.

Don't take this wrong, but I get a good laugh out of the different opinions penned. I enjoy this forum. Some of the other ones it may be 6 months before someone writes or answers a comment. They stay so close to the subject, and no one dares to offer an alternate suggestion.
Keep it up

Re: Hodaka Keys

Thanks for the info. Used a universal key from Benelli scooter. Shaved it down to fit. It worked, but falls out easily.

Re: York swapmeet

Oh, I have become quite the 'chicken shit' . No, I don't want a spot. Too ......winterry. I would just like to bring about 5 or 6 things and try to swap for something I could use.
I just don't want to ruffle any feathers.

Re: York swapmeet

I have a question. Will I be able to bring some extra parts to swap even up or a little cash? I know it is a "swap meet" but I have noticed that some of these events forget what a "swap" meet is. I don't have a lot of stuff , but don't want to run into a problem at the gate. If a...

Re: Ebay prices

I have gotten a couple deals on flea bay. The one's I like have a decent price but slap a ginormous shipping fee. My favorites are the buy it now/make offer with free shipping. As for the side line of shops. I surprise myself every day that I can walk around in mine. It's just the way I like it. Pop...

Re: E85 gas???

I have seen cans of plain gas for sale but the price is outrageous. What about racing fuel? Seems to me when we went to mid-Ohio there were pumps with several grades of racing fuel. I didn't see any sign about ethanol. Just a thought if you live near a track.

Victor,
Wow. I thought you made a chrome shops day. If I decide to go restored, I'll get the products. I am a rust and grunge guy though. Good show.

Re: Points problem

I just wanted to say one more thing on the issue. I thank the Heavens for Bruce in Idaho. He made me bundle deals and kept the cost of this build under control. For as vague as I have been, he did a great job of filling my orders. The only reason I was concerned about the ignition is the amca rule b...

Re: Points problem

Guys, First off, thanks so much for all the input. "ACES" . To answer the questions you all posed. The frame # is A-5454. That makes it a 1965 according to the updated chart. Slight disappointment. I'll live. The motor is supposed to be original. I saw the chart for locating the engine num...

Hello and Merry Christmas

I am a new member here on the east coast. I saw your post on a swap in York. I would like the address and info please. I am about 20 minutes out of Phila. In New Jersey.
Is it an indoor event? I am past the point of spending several hours in the cold.

Re: Points problem

Ok. I spent a couple of hours in the shop and just got more "good" news. First, I have added some pics of my ignition parts, just so you can see what I am talking about. Now, in putting a bike back to original, is it going to be a problem using the upgrade and still calling it original. I ...

Re: Points problem

Max, You may have the answer. That is the setup I have. So, the right coil on the ignition would not have a place to connect the high tension wire. What I need, then, is a whole different ignition? If that is the case, I will offer my setup, with the remote coil, for a correct ignition coil setup. T...

Re: Points problem

Clarence, I will have to semi assemble it to see if the points break. It just doesn't look like the shaft is lobed. Rich, From what I read, I figured that right coil would be for the spark. It just doesn't have a place for the large high tension spark plug wire to hook to. I have looked at as many p...
