Going to add to the intrigue here. I picked up a 66’ model 90 that has yellow paint over primer, not red. Seller had in family and 2 mi from USFS headquarters. It was street legal but turned racer.

Azusa shop is Universal Plating and only does Chrome. For zinc plating, here's a good shop I use now. Active Plating, Inc. 1411 East Pomona Street, Santa Ana, CA 92705 Tel: 714-547-0356 • Fax: 714-547-0540 Good and reasonable. They ship and they use a local burnishing shop to prep rough parts as nee...

Larry, in a good note, might you’ve seen their Yamaguchi’s 250 YMB, SPB, or Cotton Cobra- as those all came thru PABATCO to represent the Distributors overall contributions.

He said version 1 only lasted a ~5 months then did this version 2, Jensen head and Curnutt shocks in Swenco front end but kept Arnaco shocks as they sponsored him. He said they acted poorly so eventually put curnutts on back also. Hard to believe an evolving Hodaka!

Re: Seeking Webco Big Bore kit piston
Well, tank mystery solved. I posted and picked brains for a good 6+ mos. Sometimes, you have to go to the 'source' and Jody was very responsive and helpful. Its was a Cycle Craft tank and found one in NY. I'm torn a bit as it yellow, as his backup Super Rat so have to paint. He did 3 generation of h...

Re: Seeking Webco Big Bore kit piston
Thanks Captain. Owner’s article says “ The chrome toaster gas tank was swapped out for a smaller fiberglass unit (borrowed from my CZ— and it had been a replacement for my CZ's steel tank).” Front tank mounting tabs eliminates nearly all aftermarket tanks seen. They bolt from top. The profile and RH...

Re: Seeking Webco Big Bore kit piston
JW’s article says Clarke tank but they looked at pic and said not do that one. Maybe staff changed over but not seen another Hodaka w/ that tank. Some say CZ sidewinder. Other than piston, Tank is only part not in hand.
Trivia question: what is this tank and who has one can sell?

Re: Seeking Webco Big Bore kit piston
Yes, I wouldn't be seeking a specific piston for an otherwise complete top end for a stated replica build because its a good use of time. Only If anyone out there has one or may know some leads, then PM me as per the original post. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hodaka trivia
First, the tire thread was great. Matt’s first two seem in point. The Fuji Motors is tougher. An book in Japanese post war mftr noted Fuji Industries made complete bikes and Smith book notes were financial support to supply chain vendors, including Hodaka. Fuji Motors made motors, like Hodaka to pow...

Re: Hodaka trivia
Makes sense, most my yamagchi first had Yokohama's but went to check some other tires and are INDOU and with blank diamond logo. This was good test as IRC's are more available to if tread correct, can use them and technically OEM. The F1 has 1 Nitto back and Taisei Front. The latter being a new name...
