Thanks joe. Anyone else interested I found a guy that makes rings or he gets of the self one and may grind thicknesses if that route is easier. They were $12 a piece.

I need help with what style exhaust this 1970 ace 100 should have. It looks like they may have used 2 different style exhausts maybe one was earlier. Anyway here's a photo.

I'm replacing a bent shifter control shaft and noticed the ball receiver may need replaced too. Does this look like its bad or can it be used?

All the bonanzas I've seen originally had the black plastic ones. I take it the hodaka branded bikes didn't have these. Maybe they were just in the early e-code bikes. Not sure. I recently got a bonanza bc1500sh survivor with the ace100. It is all original and complete except for the dipstick that is supposed to be black. I want the bike to be correct but can't find a black one. Does anyone have a lead on where to locate one. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes. It should pop with fuel in the cylinder unless the timing is advanced too far. Try setting it between the two marks. See if you get a pop or two there!
