Re: My Hodaka

Maybe I should go further back to the beginning. 1965. Was tired of watching others race while needed BSA parts creeped across the Atlantic Ocean in, yes, ships. Hodaka ads were making this look interesting. I needed an Ace 90. Wow, you could race this thing every Sunday and ride it to work during t...

Re: My Hodaka

Good question. Quite involved in the Hodaka period as a dealer and racer of the time. Not what I was to do in life they told me and the Hodakas were fading. Back to "normal" life for decades. Friend calls. He's bought an old 94 Wombat, kinda, most of one. For his son to fix up.... who had ...

Re: SURVEY SAYS

I almost NEVER post. I do so when I feel I have something to contribute. I like to post when I'm doing a new build/restoration. I monitor FB but don't post on the site.. There is so much bullshit there. Larry S Kinda a social thing. Now that I met you at Hodaka Days once, I like to hear about your ...

Fast Santa and Holiday Greetings.

This version of Santa can obtain amazing ground speeds for gift delivery! “Merry Christmas!” or is it, “Happy Holidays!”? Both! To everyone, from the Good Woods and Good’s Cycle Shop, really just the garage. Have a “Good” one! Or whatever! ….Also a time for us to acknowledge friends and visualize Pe...

Re: SURVEY SAYS

Max posts almost daily on Facebook's The Hodaka Fan Club and does check in here often. Found the Old Man the other day and chatted awhile. Put on a few projects to stir up the dust lately. Either too dull or no one watching. I see several looks but few replies. Try to post in the Resonator each roun...

Re: Maybe Project "Maybe"

Not priority project but hard to leave alone. Part searching, always a subject in Hodaka brained people. Most of this has been thrown away and recovered. Extra stuff, like a puzzle with pieces missing. Front brake plate was actually a rear one I finally figure out, no cable boss. Done that, here we ...

Re: old man going north

Kinda slack here but by golly, talked to the Old Man a few days ago via tele land-line, bad on both ends, my end with a large buzz, the one on the other end just quit and a re-dial only got a recording. Land-line technology still at work. At least it sounded like the Old Man through the buzz and ter...

Re: Maybe Project "Maybe"

I like the way you include a partial motor just for the sake of filling the space a bit. She’s starting to look a little more like a bike! Did I see you adding red paint to the tank as well over on FB? :ugeek: Victor Thanks Victor! That crankcase is to remind me to chase down some missing parts! So...

Re: Maybe Project "Maybe"

Maybe project coming back to life. Tank way too rough for a chrome future but sound again enough for its mission of supplying fuel and without dents. Filled the badge holes to send me on a different approach to custom tanks. It will probably still say "Hodaka" I'll bet. Engine pieces on th...

Re: Maybe Project "Maybe"

Better report in on the Maybe project. Maybe this will work after all. Not full time but pieces and parts coming together. Blast and paint gets you started and keeps your attention. Rebuilt forks and some wheels that did actually clean up, kinda. Not perfect but hard to tell from here! Tires help wi...

Like Victor said. Consider updated clutch discs and plates that replaces old fiber discs and cools and lubricates better. All from Hodaka-Parts.com

Pull here or push there. Say that tool box looks familiar, did you borrow mine? Clarence The picture of you toolbox is what mine really looks like. I put your tool box in there to see if you were paying attention, something the Old man drug in. Do I need to send it back? Your hammer driver and flyw...

All good advice. Sounds like a condenser as I just had that problem, points could be closed or be dirty. Number one culprit always the spark plug, I've even had defective new ones. Always something, they say.....Maxie

Pull Here to Start.

For those not on Facebook. Interesting proposed starter for my 2 the Max speed project. Can be a road racer but another use would to be to see how fast a 100cc Hodaka, which has a GPS recording speedometer, could go. Starter assembly and internal gear/shaft removed for weight and slightly more power...

Looks like they have the same drive flange but only the 93 has the spacer. Both use 420 chain, 93 has offset front sprocket, 92B+ a flat countershaft sprocket. Clarence! What's happening up North? Maxie 8-)

Re: Drive flange differences

Getting educated with my newest project using a 94 frame and 92 engine from spare parts of both. Down to a 92B+ hub and using this 3mm spacer from a 93B, a cush hub Super Rat plus offset front sprocket to move the chain out from the tire a bit. 94s had bigger chain which needed sprocket moved out a ...

Maybe Project "Maybe"

What to do with leftovers? All started with a five (kinda) Hodaka barn find. Three fixable. Two grim or partial. 94 Wombat frame I keep moving around. Finally indoors. Not enough for one more restoration. Even used the swing arm. "Maybe" I should use it to inventory parts for another proje...
