1971 ace 100 undocumented serial number

Post by arkansas25 »

I have hodoka ace 100, on the frame above the rear shock where there should be a plate rivited onto the bike but it's actually stamped onto the frame A-60632. I do not have the motor serial number with me right now but I'm trying to find more information. on the front end below the head light is a sticker saying it was made in Sept. 1971 and has the same serial number that's on the rear end A-60632. if anyone can give me any information on this bike I would appreciate. it's in need of some TLC to get it up and running but before I start this project is like to know more about it. thanks in advance, God bless

Go to the Strictly Hodaka site http://www.strictlyhodaka.com/ and click on the FAQ tab at the top right. Then click on "How to Identify your Hodaka". Appears from the chart that you have a 1971 Ace 100B+ (model 92B+). Then go back to the home page and click on "Shop by Schematic" and the last one on the list will be the Ace 100B+.

Note: I edited the model number from 92B= to 92B+. I was sleepy when I wrote it last night.

oh OK I was thinking it would have a B in front of the serial number instead of an A. that's confusing

The letter before the number doesn't seem to have anything to do with the model name or number.

Clarence, you are talking about frame and engine numbers. I have never seen them match either. Of course the number stamped in the frame and the number on the front plate should always match.

There are mistakes in some of the serial numbers on the chart, especially with the Ace and Super Rats in latter part of 1970 and early 1971. ; p Victor
