I use Bel-Ray Si-7 Full Synthetic in my Model 03 Wombat with injector.
I use Bel-Ray MC-1 Racing Full Synthetic in my Super Combat.

Red line , Most expensie though , better protection than castor which is superior to all other oils , BUT has NONE of the dirtiness of castor. Better thermal stability than the rest which means more hangs on the cylinder walls for doing what it should do , lubricate.

I agree with Rich (racerclam) as I used a pint of Red Line that he sent me along with a super dupper port job on my Super Combat and it ran great. It was a little rich for the Bad Rock trail ride but it never fouled the plug. I haven't ridden it that much since, but it ran the Bad Rock for the second time again this year and it is still running the same plug. It is just not available for me locally unless I buy a case at a time so I elected to use the Bel-Ray MC-1 in it. The Bel-Ray MC-1 has been around since the 1970s as I used to run it back then. Probably improved since then.

A good choice is Silkolene, either injector or premix - good stuff! Plus, they are a major sponsor of Hodaka Days, their reps not only donate a ton of valuable merchandise, but personally work all week, helping out. Give them a try.

Rich and Bill,

At what ratio are you using Red Line? My local shop carries it and I'm thinking of giving it a try.

I use 40:1. I bet Rich uses even less.

Thanks, Bill. You're probably right, I think Red Line recommends 50:1 or even higher.

I took racerclam Richs recommendation and began using Redline at 50 to 1 in all 3 of the highly modified 125 Super Combats we use for motocross. The pistons will have a film on them when you tear the engine down after a race, but it does not foul plugs. It does not burn off the way other oils do, so the only draw back I have found is with jetting experiments. You have to trust the sound and pull of the engine since the plug always looks the same. It does not change color as with other oils.

I run 50 to 1 and my bike runs 12,000 rpm and never had an issue , 40 to 1 is waay more than needed , also when breaking in with red line run it hard initially , as long as your piston clearance is right , you need to get the ring expanded against the cylinder with comgustion pressure for getting the ring to seat , since the film strength is so tough or break in will take longer than with other oils.
