Main Nozzle

I found the main nozzle a little loose in the carb body. Is this just pressed or tapped in, or is there a special tool to tighten it.
Thanks.

What do you mean by Main Nozzle? Are you referring to the brass projection that is the top of the needle jet and sticks up through the bottom of the venture? If so, it is a press fit (goes in from the top, through the slide opening) and is additionally held in by the main jet screwing into it on the bottom (in the float chamber).

The main nozzle is also often called the needle jet. It is a snug slip fit in the carb body and is pulled down and held firmly by the main jet (or another small brass threaded part) screwed into the bottom end. You can access the bottom end of the main nozzle by removing the float bowl.

Even though these parts just press in they should be snug when assembled. If loose, there may be something missing such as a washer between jet and body, or the carb body could be damaged from mid assembly at some point, or the main jet could be not screwed in all the way.

Thanks all. It was actually more commonly called the needle jet. It was missing the little washer that held it snug in place. Plus it was tapped in too tight, the new one slides in easily.
