What is this coil under my signal flasher?

Sorry but I just realized I dont know how to post photos, and that I forgot to post one earlier. I did discover the coil is a limiter for the electrical circuit.

That "coil" ts the Current Limiter, as you found out, and is the one Dale was talking about replacing with the Road Toad Voltage Regulator. The regulator works MUCH better than the limiter. Just use both leads going to the Limiter to connect to the voltage regulator. I used the mounting holes for the limiter to mount my regulator. I fabricated a small piece of sheet metal into a 90 degree angle long enough to cover the mounting holes on the battery box to mount the VR, and then mounted the whole assembly to those mounting holes. Looks really good, 'cept I should have painted it.

it is the voltage regulator
