Trail riders of the Hodaka or off road persuasion! The ECHJYA Allegheny National Forest trail ride is only a few months away. The date this year is September 20 at the Allegheny National Forest near Marienville Pa. If you put this on your schedule now, you will be in line for a most pleasant experience this fall on some of the coolest trails around. It is not a difficult ride. No creek crossings. The trails are used in the winter by snowmobiles, so they have bridges.

We had 8 riders last year. You need not have a Hodaka to ride. The cost is $10 to register the bike. It does not need to be street legal. Just your ID and a VIN number are required. Check the website at the bottom for any other restrictions.

Friday night September 19, dinner at a restaurant to named later. For those arriving,
The closest motel is the Microtel in Marienville. Nice place.

Phone: 1-814-927-8300

The schedule is as follows;
8 AM Saturday morning breakfast.
Register at the Ranger Station about 9 AM.
Ride the Timberline Trail until about 4 PM. A lunch break will be around noon.
Dinner at the Local Italian restaurant whose name escapes me at the moment.

Marienville is about 5 hours east of Philly. $10 is a real bargain compared to some other riding venues.

For other lodging options, try Warren, Pa , or Jamestown, NY. Not too far from the Seneca Casino in Salamanca NY either.

Almost walking distance from the Marienville Microtel is Ray's Hot Spot. Cold Beer and live "rock & roll" Friday and Saturday night. There is also the Kelly Hotel & restaurant up the road that also has the same.
Anywhere else to too far away.
The Microtel is very nice. Not too expensive and is close to the Ranger station. We have been going there since 2009 and is a nice surprise in the middle of nowhere. It was built for the snowmobilers in winter.

Since the Super Secret Hodaka Research and Meditation Center is only 45 minutes from Marienville, I will have to make another annual pre-ride inspection of Ray's Hot Spot and see if all four walls are still standing. Also, a spark arrestor is required, though I have never seen an official look for them on the bikes, probably out of respect for our brand. A lot of looks from other riders on the trails.

All,

I tried the hotel link for the Microtel and found out that the owners dropped the franchise with Microtel. They still have the signs up but it is now the Monroe Hotels and suites. New link below.

Allegheny National Forest has four trails. ECHJYA has been on three of them. We have been riding the Timberline trail lately. We tried Rocky Gap and almost killed ourselves. I call Timberline the Seniors citizens trail, besides I am allergic to mud. If you want more info, try www.fs.fed.us/r9/allegheny

Had to attend a business meeting last evening at the Marienville Microtel. Rode the 175SL up there from the Super Secret Hodaka Research and Meditation Center. Looks like small tornado touched down just south of town recently, Ray's Hot Spot survived somehow.

For those that wish to go on a Friday road ride, let me know what time you will be in Marienville and also what model Hodaka you will be riding. That way, I can map out the proper route we will be taking. We can start the ride as late as 5 p.m.

The hotel is filling up fast. if you think you might be going on the ride, I suggest you make a reservation ASAP. There are not to many options for hotels in the area.
I just booked a suite, no smoking 2 beds for $84.
There seems to be another event in the area that is snatching up rooms.
