I have a 1975 Hodaka Super Rat (98) I am the original owner and I am in the middle of a full restoration. Today, I was taking out the original fenders to clean them and I noticed something. The rear fender is stamped "Made in Japan", however, the front fender is stamped "Made in U.S.A." . Does anyone know
why a fender made in the USA is on this bike? Curious, Linc

The plastic fenders that are stamped Made in the USA were supplied by Preston Petty and made in Newburg, Oregon. I was educated on this back in February on another post here. This was per Paul.

I was told by someone that is in the know that the 03 front fender (Preston Petty Mudder) was actually sent to Japan and the paint for the tank, rear fender and side covers were matched to the fender. Not sure about the 97 and 98 models but that sounds feasible.
