ACE 100 Manual

Hey All!
First time poster and first time Hodaka owner! I just picked up what I think is a 69 ACE 100(haven't gotten all serial numbers worked out to confirm). I've worked on some other bikes throughout the years so I usually go to the repair manuals for any kind of guidance. I'm sure I'll be asking some questions here as well so thanks in advance.
First question: I've seen several different repair manuals. One by Clymer, another the original shop manual, another that's a photocopied version of "the original" and then the one sold on strictlyhodaka.com.
Any input on which is the best as far as diagrams and readability? Or any other notes?
I've seen some posts from a guy in Colorado that works on Hodakas(or has in the past). Can anyone connect me with this guy? I'd love to pick his brain a bit.
Cheers!
-B

Thank you for the post and I hope great success with your bike also. She looks good to get you started.
Our Strictly Hodaka Workshop Manuals are all copies. We scan the originals in at hi resolution but I wanted you to know that these are reproduction manuals.
Thank you
Paul

. . . and I'll chime in to say that I'd recommend not depending on a Clymer manual unless that is the absolute last resort. (too many errors)

Don't forget there are Owners Manuals (originals and copies circulating out there) - basically a short guide specific to your model.
And then there's the Shop Manual, a MUCH more comprehensive guide that covers just about every repair and rebuild situation you will face. One large manual covers Ace 90's through Ace 100B (multiple models), and another shop manual covers 125's (Wombats and Combat Wombats)
If you plan on doing anything beyond checking chain play and changing oil, you should really consider a Shop Manual.
I do have some Chilton's and Clymer's - they are fine, basically just copies of the original shop manual, and like Ed said, not with out some strange content.
After you get your Shop Manual, you should celebrate by getting the new Hodaka book!
Congratulations - looks like an awesome little Ace!

Thanks all! I was 100% looking for the in-depth, workshop manual as opposed to the owners manual, although I would like to see the owners manual at some point. Even digital would be cool to check out.
Admin - Any discount codes for a first time shopper? I'm going to get the manual through you guys. It seems I will likely be ordering through SH quite a bit in coming months. Haha!

What are the discounts and how does it work? I might be interested but the benefits listed on the purchase page weren't clear about discounts through web store.

There are specific Hodaka Club member discounts posted. We hope to be adding to them in the coming weeks and months.

Heck the Resonator Revisted newsletter alone is worth the price of admission. This is the quarterly publication that Bob and Gregg put together. It is GREAT !!
Thanks
