Big Bend Hodaka Footage

Hi folks, so four friends just got back from a few days riding at Big Bend National Park (mountains that span Texas and Mexican border). I took a couple of Hodakas (one of which replaced the ’73 Husky 400 that crapped out at the end of Day 1). "Silky" O'Gan and I were the only vintage riders, and the Hodakas did not disappoint!
Averaged about 60 or so rough miles everyday - the Hodies never missed a beat, and they were ridden plenty HARD!
We usually had a camera around, so here are some clips of the trip - every bike action scene (except the first) is a Hodaka one, enjoy!

P.S. If it’s not already clear, we are one goofy bunch!

I rode some of Big Bend national park's back roads on my BMW back in July 1979 Not many people there in July One place I rode was to Grapevine Hills. Is my memory correct about that? Is there still a Grapevine Hills?

Thanks for posting the vid. Looks like you guys have fun!
I haven't seen dirt in months.
I know it's under the snow somewhere, I just can't see it.

Nicely done video . . . and it sure looked like a great outing!

PS: That's why you fit in so well with the Hodaka clan! (See the PS in the first post.)

Beautiful country, reminds me a little of the desert around Las Vegas. I'm always glad to see someone riding dirt bikes in jeans instead of being dressed up like a power ranger wannabe.

-Mike, Grapevine Hills does not ring a bell - there's Terlingua and Lajitas just west of the park. We were staying deep in the southeastern portion on the Rio Grande, near the Boquillas, Mexico crossing. I'm sure some names have changed over the last 30 years...
-Ammodave, we did come across one set of "power rangers" riding out there (pretty darn remote riding even today). They were shocked to see Hodakas flying through the dust and rocks, to say the least. Nice guys.
-Ed, it sure feels good to fit in...somewhere

Great stuff, Laurie; I'm sooo jealous. Sitting here in Oregon under afoot of snow, with freezing rain/24 degrees topping it all off.
Loved the musical integration. Gee, where have I heard that music before...
Oh, and the cigarette was a nice touch.
