Make your own smooth top bolts

On some projects I don’t like regular hardware store bolts to show. Smooth top bolts in the size I want are sometimes hard to find. Or maybe I only need one or two, not worth sending the original off for plating.
This is what I have been doing.
Make your own smooth head bolts.
Stop at step 3 for a satin look
1. 8mm stainless steel bolt from the hardware store
2. Markings sanded off with 180 grit bench disc sander
3. Chucked up in a drill and sanded 600 grit wet on a pad
4. Polished on the buffing wheel
