New members Road Toad in Central Texas

just acquired a 1975 road toad, low miles and in great condition. Luckily in Texas I’m able to get a antique license plate with no inspection so it will be street legal soon.
I wouldn’t be able to do the restoration without all the information on this site!
I’m looking forward to making new acquaintances and tracking down the 101 missing parts!

Just out of curiosity, does it mean anything that the engine serial number is M07588

Welcome to the forum! Your engine serial number is proper for a model 99 Road Toad. It is typical, on a Hodaka, for engine numbers to not match frame numbers.
Road Toads are fun little machines. Enjoy!

The engine number falls in line with the ones for a model 99 Road Toad. Their engines began with # M-01001 and went up to around M-09000 (the model 01 Dirt Squirt started with engine # M-09001).

If you go to hodaka-parts.com they have an extensive library on their site with all kinds of information on the Hodaka models, including specifications and parts diagrams.

I’ve restored 2 Modrl 99 Toads so far. I have another in waiting. They are fun bikes and the reed valve gives them plenty of zip! I think you’ll enjoy it! My grandson wanted green, but my nephew wanted the red! I call that one the Red Toad. Victor
