I went to my frist Hodaka days ever this year (2024)
While looking around a ace 90 frame and a ace 100 engine hopped into the back of my truck
Funny, I had $450 in my wallet ...then it was gone too
I wonder if the two are correlated
It is a roller and has a tank and seat both in great shape
I have friends that are really into these bikes and have tons of parts
So I have support
I need a piston and a flywheel and the bolts that hold the engine in the frame
the wheels are form a ace 92b+ and a wombat in in the back
understand that I could have this back to a stock ace 90 but..... I don't wanna do that
I wanna make a franken bike to showcase just how modular these bikes are
I all ready have a good start
have a great 4TH and go riding

Welcome to the group. Lots of fun ahead for you! I recognize that bike. I believe that you were loading it up while I waited to get past you on the road into the park. It was all good. I love seeing another person getting hooked on the Hodaka brand.

You have a nice Ace 90 original pipe there! If you are going to use the 100 motor, you’ll find one of several Ace 100 pipes will give you a little more volume moving, especially the Model 92B+ pipe! You could certainly sell that 90 pipe for more than the cost of a useable B+ pipe! But I understand if you wish to keep using it!
Welcome aboard from Santa Fe, NM!

Howdy Guys and Gals!
The Hodaka is set aside for the moment.
I got a couple of new bikes to play with...well new to me.
I picked up 2 Honda TL125s.
Elly May...
and Daisy.
The second one needs a lot of work but she runs and is in my name.
There is more parts to her like a reconditioned tank and a nice seat.
The first one runs great, in fact I just put a Sammy Miller exhaust on her.
She whispers till I crack the throttle, then she roars.
I will get back to the hodaka when I can and I think I will be ready for Hodaka Days

Check out what I just got
I don't know too much about it ...Yet
It does have good compression and it is complete

She’s coming along! Did you do a motor rebuild? Or just clean and reassemble?

Just a clean and reassemble
but she runs now
I hooked the wires to the coil and she sparked, so I buttoned up the wiring and got a external gas tank hooked up and then she coughed to life
The kill switch worked like it should ( I knew it would )
I have installed the petcocks, got the controls on the handlebars, put a new chain on, and installed some taller shocks
I will see how she runs soon... off road

I stuck a pipe on her
Kind of a cobbled together affair, but it sounds cool
I am gunna cut it down a bit and add a silencer

I rode the Hodaka around a bit
The motor runs good for for having sat on a shelf for 10 years
But, I have ridden 4 cycle bikes for so long I have forgotten how to ride a 2cycle
I have to say I am slightly underwhelmed
I know she is a 100 cc bike but I expected a bit more (might get better later when I relearn how to ride a 2 cycle)
She is loud ...when I opened her up I know I annoyed my neighbors ( that will get better when I get a silencer slapped on her)
She starts easily so that is nice
pix when I bring her somewhere to ride
Silencer help

As far as an inexpensive silencers for your Hodaka, you could go real old school and get a exhaust pipe/silencer from a VW beetle. They had two (usually chrome) exhaust pipes coming off the muffler and these pipes were baffled. I remember seeing quite a few people using them on their 2 strokes back when silencers first started to be required.
