Hodaka Days 2024 news flash

This news may be important to a considerable number of folks who were in attendance at Hodaka Days 2024 who had contacts with Ed Chesnut. (ie, me).

On Thursday morning I was getting one of those "pre-cold tickles in the back of my throat" which progressed to runny nose and general old-fashioned cold symptoms by Friday . . . and "a pretty good cold" (if there is such a thing) by Saturday. I tested positive for Covid when I got home after the banquet on Saturday. I am so sorry to have put so many of the Hodaka family into the "I've been directly exposed to Covid group". Still, it is good for you all to be aware of it. So far my symptoms have been limited to what would be expected from a "strong" summer cold. I am concerned that others of my age and older - or those with other medical conditions, may be at risk of more serious symptoms. I understand there are effective therapies for Covid and I am researching those now for myself and urge others with concerns to do the same.

I have direct contact information for quite a few friends who I talked with in person during Hodaka Days, and I've sent emails or text messages to them. But I do not have direct contact information for many of the folks who attended Hodaka Days, so this post on the Forum (and posts on various Facebook pages/groups) is likely to be the best way to alert Hodaka people to the issue.

In more positive news . . . Hodaka Days was a BLAST once again! We had record setting entry numbers in the TT Ride/Poker Run and the Bad Rock Trail Ride AND the Hodaka Parade! I'm having to skip the races (which are over by now) . . . and I think I can hear the mighty toaster tank Dirt Squirt banging against the sides of the van out of frustration at not being let out to go racing.

PS: If you think the Covid exposure information mentioned above might NOT be seen by someone you know was in Athena and might have been in contact with me - please help get the word to them OK?
