Crankshaft

I have my 72 Wombat engine cases apart and old bearings removed. Just wondering if it is a good idea to have a new bearing and rod installed on my crank while I have everything apart? Or if it’s ok to keep running it the way it is? It has minimal side to side play and I can’t feel any up and down. I will be putting in a bottom end rebuild kit from Hodaka parts.

Thank you,
Ryan

If it was me and the crank felt good, I would go ahead and use it.

If the bearings feel tight, it is very important to do a thorough visual inspection., I reject more in this sequence than if it feels tight. --------- Clarence
