Gary, Last night, I typed up a list of motel options in the region and also info regarding all of the airport options, but the web site dumped me before I posted it. Sounds like Paul will get you set up though. I have stayed in most every motel in both Walla Walla and Pendleton, so if you end up needing more info just send me a PM and I will try to help.

Gary,
Seaport Airlines flys into Pendlton from Portland.. I think they have 2 flights a day. I haven't checked on them lately though.

Paul,
I will be there and I am slowly convincing my brother that he has to go this year if no other!!!!
FYI, the two times I have gone (2005 and 2013) - I flew into Portland on a major airline and rented a car. While the drive is about 3 hours - IT IS AWESOME! The Columbia Gorge is a must see. River views, desert on one side, waterfalls and wineries (if you know me you know how I feel about wine) on the other, and on and on! It costs no more to rent the car than it costs to do the round trip flight really AND you have the car for the weekend.... So if you have time that is an option.
HOWEVER, it does not matter if you walk, ride a Hodaka, or ride a mule (Honda) just get there and enjoy this event! It is amazing every year but this one will be SPECIAL.
Bob in MD
@ Rick Mott... I hear Brooks will be at this event!

You are not going to let Rick off the hook are you ?? Don't blame you a bit ..... But he does do a ton for the Club and he is funny to be with too.
Yes Bob you echoed my personal sentiments exactly. I LOVE to fly into Portland and drive I-84 which runs a majority of the way along the beautiful Columbia river. If you have never done it you have to see this along with Mt. Hood just off the highway. All you need is the time.
See you in June !

Paul,
Yes and Yes... All in fun and he is indeed a GREAT guy. Will see both of you there and hopefully with my brother Rick with the "Chrome Hair and Beard" in tow.
FYI, for those of you that make the drive, have time, and like wineries.... There are many great ones right on the path there.
If you only have time for one, this one is so cool to see.
http://www.sunshinemill.com/ It is in The Dalles, Or right off the Interstate. I was in there this summer and I was talking to the owner of the place. You all know how shy I am... They were telling me about their single serving wine and how they patented it! It has made national news! It is made out of plastic with a pull off lid - perfect for concession sales at stadiums and the like! See this link:
http://www.copadivino.com/
I have seen these in the PX at Fort Belvior, VA. Single Serving? I thought a 750ml bottle was single serving and a 1.5L bottle was for two at dinner!
Man, I need to come up with something like this!!!!!!
NO, I do not get paid for this endorsement....Just a neat winery at an old landmark with a cool innovation. If you want to see my vineyard go here -
