Motor Swap Easy? Are You Kidding

Ok I'm sorta kidding, so many time we have a what should be a simple couple hour project that turns into a day. How many time have you heard, yea it will bolt right on, or it ran fine before. So my story goes like this, our go to all the time CW was talking to me sitting in storage. Pretty much it gets let out around the 3rd week of June each year, you know what happens then right. So the CW was calling for some love, I have had this Torque Engineering CW pipe for about 7 years and a Wombat motor with the Enduro Cross kit and CDI sitting at the California Hodaka compound for a while. Its been awhile since I have been able to see Greg and Diane so I invited my self over, and I had a guy looking to buy a motor that worked near by the compound so I invited him too.
Here the beauty, piston port motor with PVL, cool universal type Preston Petty fenders and Thunder Dog front end.

Here's the motor ready to come out, first I will pull the PVL and swap it in the other motor since I have all the upper stuff already on the bike.

Now the new unit, easy swap of the CDI and PVL. Other issue of concern is the air boot since the carb is now about 1" back, this also was a non issue by trimming the boot where it goes on the carb about 1/4". So right like the subject line said, Easy so far.
So here's the bike with the PVL and boot in place all OK. Now the pipe is the issue, maybe its was missing the correct rear mount because I bought it off ebay. So we kinda fudge the rear mount around.

Here come the issue, the pipe has no mid support like the stock pipe. Nothing, just flopping around.

Greg to the rescue.
Oh yea those are spot welds on that bracket, and then on to the torch.

Pow, he knocks it out of the park. Now a pipe is suppose to be a bolt on right??

Well I was so excited I forgot to take a complete photo, the bike test rode well. Very good low end, Greg notice the bigger dia head pipe and said that should be the case and he was right. I lugged it in second and it pulled right out.
Thanks again Greg and Diane for all your help.
